  1. nice little video Macker.. good find, thanks
  2. well poacher! they certainly arent a poacher's dog! They are very vocal and any bit of interesting scent makes them open up and get excited. I personally would not use them as a ferreters dog. I prefer a quieter thinking type dog for that, not a loud, excitable Teckel. They make excellent bushing dogs for rabbits, foxes and birds in cover. My 7 month old pup was hunting all day last February, and was well able for it. I have trouble now that he is older to keep his energy contained. He has this bottomless resource of stamina for such a small dog. Getting him fit now, I can excercise him
  3. why are you breeding? There is lots of factors in deciding to breed a lurcher. Whats the quarry, how much & often do you hunt, where do you hunt, is it for £££'s, is it an armchair hunter experiment? There are lots of quality lurchers being bred in your country from good working dogs.. why not get a dog from there, instead of adding to the surplus of dogs?
  4. Hardest man? gouging eyes out... does that make you hard?
  5. standard size Teckel is small enough as it is mate. Even then sometimes my fella struggles to get up ditches and over walls when hunting.
  6. I think they are feckin deadly little dogs, but that is just me. Look on Youtube there are loads of vids of them chasing boars, doing fox & badger trials etc
  7. It looks like the same bitch as here.. but I could be wrong Looks like a nice DVD as well
  8. Isnt that pest controller S.W.'s dog Maud?
  9. Fantastic photos and there are some fine lurchers there thanks for all the hard work photographing Bluebell.
  10. They look like smart little hounds. I reckon they will be stunning when full grown
  11. A real decent fella. ;)

  12. It never fails.... "Hancock" to cause arguments. Isn't this like the 50th Hancock thread on here?
  13. I agree with you Whin, but still when someone is happy with their shaggy mutt, then I think it is only courteous to just let them be, and dwell in their own delusions Regarding Tumblers, if people want to know the real truth about what is a tumbler, well its easy to find, if they are willing.. but they may be greatly disappointed with what they discover.
  14. Personally I think all the history spewed to sell the pups is well. ...... SHITE! But if the dog does everything you want then who are we to say anything against it then.
  15. Hi mate I sure hope the dog recovers. If there are no spinal injuries, then massage is the best thing for him. let us know how he gets on
  16. I am not sure if ye all know this lads, but when you have pups, you should clip their nails back at least once a week, this prevents the quick growing to long. I know one bitch and the owner rarely cuts the nails, and the quick is gone so long that it is a big bloody ordeal when the owner finally decides to cut. Its best to regularly clip the nails
  17. Well said Nora! I have a dog here that I would never part with. Even if someone offered me €1,000,000 I wouldn't take it. I'd fight to the death to keep him, and that's a fact. Is it because hes a good worker? To me he is and does everything I want, but it is more to do with after all these years, he is like my brother.
  18. I used to use a bit of rope, but found it hurt my hand after a few hours of the dogs pulling, but the "ratchet tie down" strap never hurts my hand. Its dead cheap anyways, and easily replaceable
  19. Hi LG, that was a good day out ye had! your lurcher there would probably win the "most injury prone lurcher" THL Award!
  20. I usually buy a cheap "ratchet tie down" at the pound shop. I tie a handle at one end and melt the other. It works very well, its lightweight and strong
  21. I hope you get something, maybe this will help jobs
