  1. You should be able to try it on your home tv if you have some phono style video leads for it..
  2. Use the supplied connection lead that comes with the Quantum XQ and gives you a female video phono connection. Then connect to any monitors video in, using a male phono connection. If the monitor doesnt have connections and is wired, is there a wiring schematic to show you what wire is what ?
  3. I wouldn't go shooting foxes with a HMR over 100yds to be honest, but I've shot a lot 100yds and under using a HMR, wait for them moving side on and a well placed chest shot drops them. Ideal for rabbit shooting in big numbers also.. I use a HMR for rabbits with thermal as its flats shooting and no hassle with reloading as I shoot a lot of rounds, I did go down the hornet route but its too time consuming loading rounds in bulk when your going through 50-100 a night easy.. If your shooting foxes and not a huge number of rabbits at ranges out to 200yds I would go for the .22 hornet as
  4. XQ50 all day long, there is no argument in it, better detection range, better detail, more native magnification.
  5. They both have the same sensor, how can a 38mm give you a better image than a 50mm. The Trail XQ50 is better than a Trail XQ38, I wouldn't even consider a 38 in the rifle scope models at all.
  6. All my dies and presses are Lee, as well as primer tool.. I use an RCBS charge master for throwing loads and get good results, you do not have to splash out loads to be honest. I'd spend money on decent scales though RCBS or along them lines, all the little bits soon add up...
  7. You will be amazed at how lightweight they are...
  8. I opted for a DPT moderator for my .223 and .243 after previously owning T8 and Wildcat Predator mods... They are REALLY light weight, and I'm impressed with them, great sound moderation .. Give the choice it would be a DPT or Wildcat Evolution for me. If you want to have a look at my setup just let me know, the distributor for DPT Euro is also on your doorstep in the North East.
  9. The standard accolades will be released first probably in the next few month. Then the LRF models will come at a later date, personally I would wait for the accolade XQ38/XP50 LRF models to be released, hopefully later in the year.
  10. I would avoid the 38mm models and go for the larger 50mm model, The Trail XQ50 are good for the money. http://www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk/Pulsar-Trail-XQ50-Thermal-Rifle-Scope
  11. I've watched videos of rabbits running up to snares on fencelines, avoiding them, jumping under them, through them... pegandgun had some good footage, showing this on the dales.. Winter when rabbits are more active at night and the days are shorter its less of an issue, as the spring and summer come into play and there more active during daylight, is when it can affect you... smaller juvenile rabbits, visibility, etc .. obviously you still snare a lot, but I find you can get more knocks during these periods.. I've used new shiny fence snares on many occasions but I still prefer a weather
  12. Not really needed with peg snares set on the beats when the rabbits are travelling out.. Beneficial when using fence snares, especially during periods of daylight and longer days when there more active during these times, as when there travelling at slow speed through fence lines, not all but some can see them (obviously not at night), weathering helps with some being avoided or knocked.. Put it this way , its not going to hurt anything, takes nothing to weather them and also help with two legged thieves taking them as once weathered there very hard to see if your not looking.
  13. Get a Ward 800 S if you already have a thermal spotter. Get a 50mm upwards AS IR LED torch for out to 250yds on upto 12-14x mag max, if you want to use your scopes full magnification at 16-24x and be able to shoot out to 400yds, not spot, but shoot then combine it with a Dragonfly torch.
  14. There’s a lot of choice out there, that’s for sure. Depends if you want to swap between rifles or want a dedicated unit. I use a Ward 800, Trail XQ50, Apex XQ50 LRF and a Drone Pro. They all have there individual benefits.. What do you need to shoot, ranges and on what rifle?
  15. Whats people favourite pellet for there FAC airguns, I'm currently using an FX Royale, I've tried AirArms Diabolos, 16 and 18gr weight pellets, also JSB Diabolos 16 and 18gr as well as the FX pellets, yes I'm sure there all made by JSB , although the FX pellets gave the best groups for sure.. Still to try any H&N pellets but I have a few other types to try, time permitting..
  16. Honestly save your cash and buy a Ward 800, much, much better.
  17. They work brilliant with Hawke Sidewinders, do you mean 6-24x sidewinder model, they work great I wouldn't go for the higher mag next model up though as field of view can be too restrictive ... I use mine with a sidewinder and Dragonfly laser and I can take a shot at 400yds on 16x-20x mag ... Thats impressive and partly down to the Dragonfly itself... I also use it on close up stuff with my FX FAC airgun and rimfires, great all-round units.
  18. No question, if you want an add on, get a Ward 800. http://www.nightvisionstore.co.uk/ward-d-vision-800s-digital-night-vision-c2x21073807
  19. Brings it back considerably more, 1"-2" and slightly lower down..
  20. I'd go for a .17hornet personally , 200yds is more than enough and will allow you to happily drop rabbits and foxes within that range.
  21. It comes with the standard Pulsar weaver mount which fits straight to a weaver rail, its got pretty decent eye relief, much better than the ATN mounts and models as a comparison, also if you do want to bring it down a bit more and further back, you can buy the weaver QD mount that fits it and brings it back quite a bit, it has numerous mounting bolt options. Best way to zero it, is a cardboard box at 40-50yds initially , stick a 2" square of tinfoil on it and it shows black on white hot setting, then get it on target. Remember on the X-Y axis when adjusting the scope zero co-ordinates lik
