  1. Are you not tempted with the 40gr vmax walshie, great accuracy with lil gun and ppu brass... crimping them also tightens up the groups..
  2. I would buy a Ward 800 instead from nightvisionstore, if you dont want to wait, more money but more versatile.
  3. I was told 2 weeks ago theres a 6month back order wait on the RT models and still a 3 month back order wait on the older XT models..
  4. You may have missed the boat with the best doublers lads. They have discontinued the pulsar lens that increased mag, purely down to the fact they don't want people screwing them onto the front of photons. They were the best option, directly screwed into the front, you may find someone with them in stock, but they have increased in price dramatically because people know you cannot get them anymore... For longer range shooting they do improve the image, the downside your field of view is badly reduced..
  5. Great groups again, 6x mag!!!! I wouldn't be able to see a 1/2" target and get accurate groups at that range, 16x minimum for me 24x preferably .. How far the .223 40gr off the lands?
  6. Some cracking groups there dicehorn, what magnification scope are you using for load development. Also do you prefer to develop a load working up charge weights with group sizes or do you look for the least FPS spread then tweak COL to reduce group size.
  7. Plenty arriving after the weekend for anyone stuggling to get them, double battery pack kit with charger suitable for Yukon Photon RT and Pulsar Quantum models. http://www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk/pulsar-dnv-battery-pack-nimh
  8. Currently using N130 for my .223 loads, but I see a lot more are using N133 over this, any reason why the N133 seems more popular.
  9. Evo with 50mm head will be more than enough for your Drone Jarvis.
  10. I have agog standard crony already, but in poor light during winter normally in afternoon it won't work, so I'm about to try some LED's fitted to the diffuser to see if it performs better..
  11. I bought a .22 Hornet awhile ago with the intention of using it for rabbit/fox to replace the HMR. Whilst its a super accurate round, and to me has a duller crack than a HMR, its not practical to reload the ammunition in the quantities I need to without cracking up... its far easier for me to just grab a box of HMR ammo and know its going to give me flat shooting out to 120yd-150yd at night, then no reloading issues and at £12 a box local there cheap if your going through a couple of hundred rounds a week easy.. A lot ditch HMR's and swap them for Hornets, there great guns for rabbits an
  12. Are you also lubing inside the necks? When setting up the die, how many turns once you hit the shell holder?
  13. Oops did I say that out loud , some mothers do have em..
  14. Hmmmm..from the limited number of rabbit heads on show??? Eh???? Have you ever piled a load of dead rabbits in the back a landrover and emptied them end of the night there squashed, contorted, full of snot and blood, eyes closed eyes open, full of piss.. I didn’t notice any mixy at all when I picked them up and threw them in and I certainly don’t hide heads if they did have mixy they get flung in hedge for anything that wants to eat them, in fact I can’t remember the last mixy I shot.. These rabbits did not hang around because they had mixy, it was a factor of vehicle and NV/Thermal ..
  15. I don’t recall any having Mixy either , good post Paul , as you say, they just keep coming year on year , filtering from surrounding areas and need controlled.
  16. Is it just me or is this guy a total cock?
  17. Whats your choice of Chronograph for use in load development, also is anyone using a Labradar, is it right they don't operate in low temperatures?
  18. I think you better stick to the AirgunBBS Belarafron, regardless of what I say your going to be an argumentative twat, I'll say it how it is... I'm not sugar coating it, I was shooting rabbits to get rid of them, whilst the farmer who owns the land was driving my vehicle, on tramlines with the ground frozen and gave us the opportunity to get round, shooting from a passenger window with limited shooting angle from a defender window, with a HMR which drops them anywhere in the body...How many ran off?? I'd already snared a pile from the same area as he nearly had a heart attack with how many he
  19. Ow Peter Perfect.. Chest shots, couple needed a second shot, there getting shot to drop numbers at different ranges at night and awkward ones that have caused damage in wheat, sometimes hard to get at in hedgerows, woodland where you have to take a shot from a wing mirror on a running motor at all angles... dodgy, unethical where they running off, did they drop... sadly I can look at myself in the mirror, because I've shot enough, and long enough to know the job. If I wanted to fanny about taking all day for an ethical headshot half of them wouldn't be shot.....stick to your range work an
  20. They don't blow them up Phil, they do more damage than a .22LR thats more sure, but they drop them so much better with chest shots and you have the benefit of a real flat trajectory with greater range at night... I went down the reloading route with a .22 hornet, but its very time consuming and you soon get sick loading hundreds of rounds continually, the HMR is a grab and go gun for this... If your chest shooting the best parts of the rabbit are fine saddle/rear legs, or for any other use it doesn't really matter dog food, etc Agree it can be deadly , but some of these spots the rabb
  21. Villaman, yes its a very handy unit for different rifles and magnification ranges. For rabbit control at the backend of the season, I find the thermal rifle scopes deadly, so quick to get on target and drop multiple rabbits, plus you get the ones in hedges and woodland, were NV can't cut it...
  22. Shot with Trail XQ50 thermal rifle scope and Ward NV unit.
  23. I'll try some N133 and Varget and see what the results are like when I get chance..
  24. I use a .243 and .223, the .243 is great with 58gr or 75gr vmax and beats a 22.250 in every aspect, I love my .223 Tikka great calibre, quiet, light recoil with a huge range of choice and cheap bullet selection.
  25. Doublers do make the image much better at range, but the downside for close up work the reduction in field of view is a right pain and makes getting on target twice as long..
