  1. All around hen sheds, 20,000 free range hens and he's been losing a lot. 2 of them are adults, had 14 upto now off there, this last couple of month.
  2. Quantum lite XQ30V might be a better option , not as good as the Helions but it will serve its purpose and pick up rabbit heat signatures to 250yds and fox 350yds, weather dependant.
  3. Spotted with Hellion XP50 and Vehicle mounted Apex XQ50 LRF. Rifle .223 fitted with Ward 700.
  4. Tried some different loads using .223 and 40gr vmax, best up to now was 24.4gr of N130, neck sized hornady brass and 30thou of lands.
  5. I've settled on a load for the .22 hornet using 40gr vmax and12.7gr Lil Gun, PPU brass, with a COL 1.880 crimped, giving me half decent results, it's a compressed load, I tried small pistol and small rifle primers and both gave similar results, although the small rifle primers gave a slightly higher POI due to velocity increase.
  6. Girly gun... .22 hornet has stood the test of time across the globe
  7. Nah I'm lazy!!! Going to have some fun now I have worked up a load with it... Just bought a shed load of bullet heads for it... and tried various brass.
  8. Are the varmageddons and nosler ballistic tips pretty much the same thing as vmax? Varmageddons are thinner jackets than vmax and slightly different bullet style, flat... vmax are better for higher velocities.. I think??
  9. Using a shot sled and loading mine to 1.880 col with my cz527
  10. Good choice , you not trying the 40 grainers in the hornet also? 53grain in .223 are pretty deadly and great BC.
  11. Message me mate, its absolutely pointless offering deals or reduced prices as other companies report it, when it suits them to do offers its ok.
  12. What calibre Dave and bullet weights are you using?
  13. Normal CZ527 mounts should do you mate, sportsmatch do them or if you go to a weaver system get a rail and weaver mounts...sometimes rifle/scope dependant adjustable mounts are needed.
  14. I should have them end of September.
  15. Had mine awhile, I've been stocking up on 35gr, 40gr heads and just bought a 1000 of the H&N rounds to try... Plan to make some rounds up and try the small pistol primers , see if there a little better than the small rifle ones.. What brass are you lads using, I've been using winchester and pup, supposedly the remington brass has the largest case capacity if you want to ram more lil gun in...
  16. Yes another heads up for a CZ452 I have one, total work horse, I've shot tens of thousands of rabbits with it and the only time it missed a beat was when it got really gummed up with a certain batch of ammo and wouldn't extract with the extractor claw... I use Eley and Winchester subs. The Eley give the tightest groups but if your going for body shots instead of head shots on rabbits, you do get a lot more runners with Eleys, the Winnies have a bigger hollow point that drops them much better..
  17. Yes great bits of kit, IMO the Helion XQ38F is the best allrounder for the money...
  18. Give me a shout if you want a Helion, best price
  19. I listed Pulsar products..and I've used them all... Only two choice out of the handhelds for me Helion XQ38F or Helion XP50 Or from the rifle scopes, Trail XQ50 Problem being when it comes to the chinese one https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/thermal-weapon-sight-rifle-scope-for_60636116373.html?spm=a2700.7724838.2017115.10.qaWAJB 17 micron sensor, 75mm lens size but the WT75-3 is £4k and the WT75-6 £5k , they give a great image..BUT the design is not brilliant, white reticules on white heat source?? No multiple, memory function, no PIP function, no multiple reticules,
  20. For anyone interested in getting airguns, maintained, serviced or tuned please get in touch with Premier Pistol on the forum, he's located in the North East area . Contactable here 106407-premier-pistol
  21. Helion XP50 - Is the only 640 handheld I would consider the 2.5x optical mag is ideal alongside the 640 res sensor.. 380 Sensor models. Helion XQ50F - Good but IMO too tight a field of view at 4.1, is limiting. Helion XQ38F - Best bang allround thermal for the money, 3.1 great mag without limiting FOV Quantum lite XQ30V - Great for money, poor lens causes slightly grainy image.. Helion XP28 - Get an XP50 instead Quantum lite XQ23V - Get an XQ30V instead Helion XQ19F - Get an XQ38F instead Performance for the riflescopes would be (best first) Trail XQ50 and The 17micron sensor pro
  22. Amazing what you miss Paul when scanning with lamp or NV! I had the older model HD/XD/XQ quantums and its very easy to adjust compared to the Hellion models, the rotary knob is nice and simple....downside being its easily knocked... would of been better being spring loaded with the ability to lock into place once set...
  23. I don't agree with that list at all... and i've used them first hand..
