Almost 100% but none of them live on the islands, we kicked them of when we let the Americans use Diego Garcia. The Chagos islanders now mainly live in Mauritius and Crawley, but almost none of them were born on Chagos but would like to live on their ancestral lands. Mauritius and Starmer are using UN rulings to take over/give away the islands, but with delicious irony, the UN has now said the islanders human rights and wishes should be taken into consideration, Leaving the human rights lawyer Starmer with an almost impossible dilemma; give the Chagos islands to Mauritius and trample o

From what I understand Mauritius and the Chagos Islands were part of the UK’s British Indian Ocean Territories. They were separate countries but administered by the same Foreign Office department. Mauritius gained independence from the UK during our “retreat from east of Suez” in 1968, but we kept the Chagos islands. Mauritius NEVER owned them or had a claim to them but in recent years decided to ask the International Court of Justice to rule on who owned them The court gave a NON - BINDING judgement that the Uk should negotiate with Mauritius about handing them over. The Tory’

With due respect mate, your dogs are NOT “double muscled” They are well muscled and conditioned and a credit to you, but , “double muscled” is a genetic abnormality found in whippets. There are technical and scientific names for it. It’s got nothing to do with exercise or work or training. As I said, I had a whippet that had true “double muscle” and it was very evident just looking at it. It cramped up badly after just one 150 yard run and I had it put down. Cheers.

I just smile indulgently at the japes of the youngsters . I look upon them as prodigal sons, wayward waifs, truculent youth. I live in hope that a mere morsel of my patient attempts to educate them helps them on their journey through life . Cheers.

I once put a post up on here called “are pures really pure” ; where I traced the ancestry of a deer/grey I owned all the way back. On the deerhound side it had Anastasia Nobles greyhound outcross, and on the greyhound side it had Orfords Bulldog outcross and even further back it had “rough haired Scottish greyhound”. So I guess pures arent REALLY pure if you go back far enough Cheers.

I don’t think we are talking about the same type of double muscle. The type I’m talking about is peculiar to whippets and appears if both parents carry the gene. Like this ; My dog wasn’t quite as bad , but not far off Cheers.

You mentioned “double muscle” on a post the other day. I had a non-ped that was “doubled muscled”, called The Baron, it was sired by one of the greatest scratch dogs ever, Red Baron, and the dam was non-ped whippet x collie/ greyhound, so could reasonably be called a lurcher. It had the strangest running style ; it almost seemed to be running sideways, as if its back legs were trying to overtake its front legs ! It won a few match races for me, but cramped up badly afterwards. I never bred from it. This was back in 1972; Great times Cheers.

You’ve got me reminiscing about my old dogs now and I could talk about them all day My brother and I had a bitch, Flossy, she was bred Rch. Yorkie Boy x greyhound. She levelled out at 19 1/2” and 32 lb, tremendously fast but she was second best in her weight class to a bitch called Devils Angel, also by Rch Yorkie boy x a different greyhound . They ruled the 32lb class but I could never beat it ! We mated her with a non-ped but the pups were culls even though they were 1/4 greyhound. We then mated her with a non- ped x greyhound, making the pups 1/2 greyhound but again culls.
