What a depressing conversation !…….if I had to sum up old bill shops and prisons and everything to do with them in one word it would be “Depressing” ! They ain’t places and situations you want to remember, they are the ones you want to forget.
  6. Not just duty solicitors are free ( legal aid) duty solicitor is just that . On duty incase needed they ask if you want that one or one of your own …. If you are eligible for legal aid ( most people are ) you use who you want … duty solicitor is only useful if yours is miles away for some reason ,or you don’t know of any ….. thought you’d know that ….you know nearly everything about everything.
  7. Because it’s not for porn, it’s bait ! Like all these things, they say it’s for something almost nobody would disapprove of……but really it’s to give powers in a whole load of other areas. Lines in the sand mate, lines in the sand…..
  8. How do they work mate what they rat traps? Queer looking things
  9. My younger brother was arrested as a minor, about 14. We didn’t have ‘phones back then, a policeman came to the door and said someone over 21 had to sit in with my brother. My dad was away at the time so I pretended to be my older brother and offered to go. The policeman was in a car but refused to take me, I had to make my own way there. After he had been charged they said take him home. I said where are his shoes and socks, they said they were keeping them as evidence. I asked for a lift home, no way, and no money for a taxi so he had to walk home, barefoot in the rain.
  10. Havent work worked for years.....look theres another way to look at not being able to " afford " a proper brief......can you or your family afford to lose however many years of earnings ?......that brief might just save you a lot of money if he keeps your freedom and keeps you being able to earn......people will beg borrow and steal for the latest car but not for their freedom ?.....whats that saying you Northerners use " nowt as queer as folk "

Had a little float around at The Bell in Epping last night, theres going to be a protest every Sunday and Thursday until its closed down.....i reckon there must have been a thousand plod there last night,at least a hundred vans etc.....and maybe 200 - 300 protesters tops ! Im starting to think even the lefties have got them at it as apparently the " anti protesters " didnt even turn up.....i guess plod didnt have enough vans left to escort them in ! First pic is outside the hotel the second is looking up the high street.
  13. Everyone’s ALLWAYS been entitled to a duty solicitor, but fifty years ago there wasn’t cctv and video recordings in rural police houses ! And they weren’t allways honest with you ! LOL ! You should have had an adult present when you were arrested at eight year old. Cheers.

No probs mate they'll be down asap .. then when I opted for crown court Paul (solicitor) rings me and says I've organised paddy to come be your barrister he's good . Chid walks away with his community service instead of being locked up ...
  23. My brother and I were charged with GBH and Trespass in pursuit of game or coney, over 50 years ago. He qualified for means tested legal aid , I didn’t. The solicitor was a pal of our dads and advised us that he would represent my brother on legal aid and me pro bono as we were being tried together. We were found not guilty of all charges. We were never offered or asked for a duty solicitor when charged and interviewed at the police station, Cheers.
  24. A qc ( or kc now ) is just a senior barrister that has showed enough expertise to be recognised by the monarchy, you could get a qc as a duty solicitor theres no reason they cant do it but as a rule they typically deal with complex or high profile cases in a crown court. Apparently an old case of mine from years ago actually gets a small mention in a book called Under the Wig written by William Clegg QC when i sued my own solicitor
  25. Greyman
