No grouper yet Sean, that's what I was aiming for when I caught the shark, when I first hooked it I was sure it was a grouper as it just felt huge! Lol
-
No even a teeny weeny wee bit haha haha I lamped dales regular with a few diff dogs I owned or good mates owned, an we all chatted about this an out a what k would class as a cracking 8 dogs, the only dog that was in them 8 with coursing blood in it was the 3rd best haha haha he was good tho, but wasn’t the best by a country Mile an yet his owner was the only one of our group as keen as me he was here more than anyone, once he added bull to the coursing blood the dogs improved but they were used diff game an struggled with rabbits in numbers for some reason
-
3 runs an a breather tl start the season an by time dec/jan comes we was expecting 5/6/7 runs an then a breather whilst other dog had a few runs or ye dropped catch off for later, despite the bar room tales no Cnut is walking about dales with 40 rabbits on there shoulder lamping slipping an catching rabbits haha it’s a diff ball game to coursing an I’m not get drawn in to it haha haha
-
Lol am I correct though mate?

Well, the way I see/understand it, 5 minutes of continuous flat out running WILL demand more stamina than a lamp dog that's running 20-30 seconds at a time, and having several rests between runs. Not including any of my dogs in this, as I never owned any runners that could last anywhere near 5 minutes of continuous flat out running, nowhere near it.

This guy ha haha haha

I didnt think Joshua was good enough to carry an opponent and make it look convincing in the way Mayweather did with Mcgregor....but hard as it is to fight someone who is not fighting you it was clear to see Joshua up the pace and intensity in the 5th/6th.....i was kind of hoping the Jake lad would be killed or at least seriously mangled as it would bring the sport into disrepute and stop any of this nonsense happening in future but i can see it getting worse and worse.....very worrying times for the sport in my opinion.

All a bit mad that....quite sad to watch really. -
I just use the bog standard Dogtrace X20 model as I'm not great with technology and just want something to show me where my hounds are but my mate recently bought the most up to date version that connects to your phone and gives you all the stats.

There is a company in Ennis in County Clare, Barron Sports. Give them a ring and your man will get you the best type for what you are looking and will post them out to you. The owner is a really sound fella. Does repairs and all as well. Use him myself and he is excellent.

The end of hunt terrier work
harryshounds replied to Bakerboy's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Hunting in Ireland not seen as such a class issue, that's why it can get cross party support. Id go as far as to say most hound hunting in Ireland is on foot by working clas rural types. It's the working class v the toffs that's allowed labour to pursue a ban in England. The strength of hunting in Ireland is that we don't have that divide. -
I quite like the way you appreciate Xmas and the traditions of Xmas the older you get.....years ago it was literally " give us a list and i'll get it all " you'd just sling money at it without any thought at all, especially for the kids......these days me and the wife, close friends etc put a limit on it say 20 quid each and really put a lot of thought into it.....the grandkids can have anything they like but for the adults it just makes it all much more fun and personal.....anyway all the best to everyone on here Merry Christmas chaps.
