Any planned litters? Beddy/ Greyhound / Collie/ Whippet
fred90 replied to jamesgavin19's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
remember those days well I only had rabbit dog's, but a few local lads had the merlin type dogs. -
Strangely enough I have a lot of time for Galloway, don’t get me wrong I fundamentally disagree with most of his views?, ideology ?, world view ?……but some of it I do agree with and I also respect that he seems fairly honest about his beliefs no matter what the cost to himself politically or reputation wise. I have the same sort of opinion of Corbyn funny enough……he is a disease but he is a fairly honest disease.

I did eventually outcross the type to a saluki greyhound. I sometimes wonder what the offspring might have made put to a pure saluki. I reckon that's how the merlin eve types came about by lads crossing good hardy knockabout lurchers to the ultimate running dog the saluki for single handed hare catching.

That dog with the white feet looks familiar, tats. Did you have pics of him in the shooting news? -
Struggle to get a small petrol van, I tried and couldn't find anything decent. Ended up with a diesel Berlingo Cheers, D.

I greatly respected a foreman I had once. He had developed an excellent way of managing men. Whenever there was a horrible job to be done. He would say " come on lads. I never ask you to do something I wouldn't do myself". And he was as good as his word. He would do the horrible jobs just to set an example. Poloticians don't do that.

As George Galloway puts it .... "Supermarket sweep"

ffs mate don't let mchull see that -
Yep, understand all that mate, but as you have acknowledged the point is they are all poncing off someone and justifying it……he could have worked his own way through as most have to do but he didn’t ! Ive been watching “Band of Brothers” again on the telly and there was a great line in it that is wisdom I think for people in positions of leadership, one officer is talking to a new officer and he says “Never put yourself in a position where you take from these men” Thats called integrity and it’s sadly lacking in politics…..my point is, don’t bother looking for it because you won’t f

I get it. But I guess the idea of sending Skinner to uni was so that that he could better represent them in Parliament. If you leave school at 14 ( I know we left at 13 due to circumstances beyond our control lol) then standing up in parliament with a working class accent and a rudimentary education would be very intimidating. So the education was paid for so he could compete on an equal basis. Skinner became a bit of a pantomime turn. I didn't really rate him. Eventually neither did his constituents and he failed to be elected last time round.

My pal back in England runs a thing for kids with his fishing club every year where they take a group of kids and show them the ropes, the do’s and don’t’s, fish care, skills everything like that…..wonder if there are any clubs near you doing the same mate ?……may be worth investigating ?

That's the reality and the truth mate. I have suffered with sciatica over the years and had to book two days off this week with a flare up the first thing I did was take a few more co coadamol to numb the pain.
-
I was happy with the one's I owned over the years for knock about pot filling lurchers and hardy rarely picking up injuries despite being run and lamped regular. A pic of sire and one of his offspring after a mooch around the doors in the 80s about the end of October both working together on smallish wooded land.

The hats are made in Taiwan, the Arabs buy Trump a jet, Starmers glasses are £2500 paid for by a Pakistani and Dennis Skinner got put through university by union members subs !…….. When it comes to politicians of every political shade, someone else is paying for something ! Which as it happened just made a question pop up in my head, is it more disgusting that an Arab oil billionaire buys Trump a plane or that a working class miner pays for an education for Dennis Skinner that his kids will never get ? There’s a moral conundrum for you mate ? lol

P.S the hats are made in Taiwan.lol

Likewise mate, and don’t forget, Make America Great Again !…..have a MAGA day old chap ! lol

It’s like this, everyone will be smart about it……right up to the point they are walking into A&E with their toddler who has a temperature of 103 and the nurse says “If we don’t give paracetamol to get this temperature down then they are in serious danger !” Folks will be begging them to fire that into their child as quick a humanly possible ! Thats reality !

Always a pleasure to exchange differences of opinion and interpretations of world events in an intelligent grown up way Wilf. I think I've set my views out and vice versa. I have nothing further to add. So wish you a good day.

“Fact checkers” will tell you mass third world immigration is great for your country……so that’s “fact checkers” sorted and out the way ! Comparing Europe and America on immigration is utterly flawed, especially in the context of Trumps line about “Your country’s are being destroyed…..” He is absolutely 100% correct about that from a European prospective !…….our story isn’t Americas story, it’s comparing ancient indigenous society’s who are distinct and have inhabited lands for tens of thousands of years with a country built on immigrants and genocide of native people that is only
