  1. all good banter mate... the feckers get my blood boiling as well!
  2. Hey guys, Tried this recipe with some venison i was given last week and it was great... trouble is it was so good i pretty much ate the lot in one day and ended up crapping lumps of coal . Damn nice though. http://www4.gvsu.edu/triert/s/articles/jerky1.htm
  3. Yep... i'm with you guys on the scope :thumbs-up: A CZ with a decent scope on it would probably set you back £500 for the lot and as P&G says... there ain't much you can do wrong up to 100yrds on a coney. Horses for courses at the end of the day... if you have the cash why not... you can get a lot of .22 rimfire for £500... have a look on www.guntrader.co.uk to see what i mean! :thumbs-up:
  4. With all due respect bud, its the un-authorised off-roading, poaching other peoples land and you own anti-social behaviour to these people that gives the rest of us a bad name. I am not your "bud", my offroading is not unauthorised and is perfectly legal as i stick to byways open to all traffic, i would hardly poach my own land and if you feel that my behaviour may influence the way that other people may think of you then you can kiss my a...! I make no apologies for what i do and the last thing i would ever do would be to try to appease anybody least of all bunny hugging ramblers
  5. Cheers bud It looks like i'll have to use what-ever i can get my hands on!! ... seems to be some sort of distribution hiccup at the moment and its pretty thin on the ground.
  6. :welcomeani: bud... thanks for the advice earlier. I'll PM you when i eventually get my 6.5 and see if you still have those Sierra 85's. Have a cracker Local
  7. :11: how many varities are they? Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter... and they are all protected don't you know
  8. Its the bin recycling initiative they have going on down here.. all meat/ fish/ veg one a week and the rest once a fortnight ... you should have seen the number of flies in the summer  The rats will be the size of bullx's soon and need fox snares. :11:

  10. Thanks for the post DeerStalker :thumbs-up: ... everything i've heard seems quite positive on this caliber so i'm going to jump in and get one. Probably take a while mind you as i seem to have this condition that makes me research things too much and end up persuading myself i 'need' to spend a packet  . (true n' blue remi 700 action, kreiger barrell, McMillan stock, trigger job etc.) Don't suppose you know where to pick up sierra 85gr HP's do you?... like rocking horse pooh round here! Cheers for the feedback fellas
  11. Typical millitant bloody townie pricks... especially that old fart twat. They arn't all like that but its the few that say they speak for all that get to me. The lads held up the arguement well and did the cause proud there i think
  12. nice stuff guys your dogs look in great nik
  13. I've just chopped a .22 in for a .17HMR for sniping at 100yrd plus rabbits and crows. I've done quite a bit of research on the web and the general consensus is that it is a quality small game / varmint round but not a foxing one. Ok it will take down a fox if you nail him in the head at a sensible range (60-80yrds???) but its a very light and small bullet so there's not much room for error and the penetration on the 17gr spitzer tip may not be enough the drop him... the 20gr gamepoint looks more sensible. Personally i'd stick with the .222 and give yourself more shot options cos he
  14. :welcomeani: :thumbs-up: bud
  15. Hugh F-W eats rook squabs in 'Cook on the wilde side' for some farmers. They all used to eat rook pie during the war but didn't look too keen to try it again! Rooks would be ok at a push as they generally shun carrion... wouldn't try a crow
  16. :welcomeani: buddy... never tried the raptors but sounds amazing... roe deer... WooHoo!! :thumbs-up:
  17. Guiness... Your too bloody right mate... hunting is more than just getting a kill... its a way of life and a culture in its own right. This is something the wooley headed pricks in whitehall and, unfortunatley, the vast majority of the town residing public just don't understand (like you i have moved into the suberbs). An overall understanding and appreciation for the countryside goes a darn site further to animal welfare and conservation than the blinkered, one sided view being pandered about in the media. Like many have posted here... the pics say it all! Great to see the next gen
  18. Thanks mate :thumbs-up: Hadn't looked at CCI for some obscure reason... had tunnel vision on hornady see what you mean about the TNT jobs.. gamepoints don't look so bad either. nice one
  19. Hi guys, Just chopped in my 10/22 for a Anschutz .17HMR with a SAK on the end... mainly for coney and pigeons. I know there has been an earlier thread on ammunition so apoligoes for being boring and/or thick. Has anyone got any experience in the Hornady 20 grain XTP? I understant the 17 gr v-max tends to turn them inside-out a bit  but im not sure if the 20gr will zip right through them (being pretty much FMJ) and need a second shot or have em scamper off ? Any views appreciated... apart from 'why the hell did you get rid of the 10/22' :11:
  20. spot on :thumbs-up: Great pics mate and good tip on negotiating the fence
  21. The sodding press seem incapable of giving an impartial view of anything hunting related. Like you say this nob reporters 'story' will be taken as gospel by the majority who don't know any better.
