It did occur to me that we had been housed like animals in a shithole and that I was working with people from the other side of the world who were illiterate and very different from me.

I found it difficult to understand why grown men were harassing my 16 year old sister. I was only a kid myself.

But I later realised these people were brought here to undercut British workers. It was a well thought out strategy by the movers and shakers of the economy. They did not care about the deep societal effects their importation would cause.

As soon as I could I got out. Same as you. White flight I think it's called.

As far as America goes. I see it very differently from you.

This has nothing to do with 1100 Somalis. Who really cares about them except themselves?

Seems to that America is supposed to be the land of the free. But Trump is turning it into a repressive hard line autocracy. 

Masked, armed thugs are demanding papers from American citizens, assaulting them, following  them home, stopping cars, shooting at cars and ultimately murdering  people.

Obama repatriated far more illegal immigrants than Trump has with none of these tactics. He arrested aliens using intelligence supplied by immigration authorities.

I would suggest the most efficient way to deport people would be to pay informers. Together with Big Brother you would quickly identify these people. They can then be arrested humanely without bullying and shooting American citizens.

The guy who was shot was entitled to protest. He was defending his community, his fellow Americans from a totally unnecessary invasion of ICE militia. He held a licensed gun. He had every right to carry it wherever the hell he wanted to carry it. 

Nobody voted for America to resemble nazi Germany.

Trump is off his head. Drunk with power.

Simple question, if you seen a group of law enforcement armed to the teeth in a land where they can and do use those weapons, would you go and confront them whilst armed ? 
 

I wouldn’t and the reason I wouldn’t is because there’s an unhealthy risk of getting shot if things go wonky !

You could argue that the situation inflamed by folks disrupting the deportation process and causing more grief and danger to all concerned, including themselves. A quick question, where was the outcry and riots when Obama was deporting far more people than Trump?. Where were the social justice warriors when he was detaining and splitting families and keeping kids in caged facilities ?. Just been announced we are sending illegal immigrants back to Sri Lanka and Algeria and paying for them to stay in hotels in their own countries, paying for counselling and paying to help them start up businesses, meanwhile, in Trumps America…..

Economists the world over are talking about the K shaped world economy.

I don't pretend to understand the ins and outs of economic theory. But I do understand the central message. It is that the rich are getting  seriously richer and the poor significantly poorer.

We've seen this happen in our lifetimes. 

Only the left have ever concerned themselves with more equal societies.

Thetefore I'm for a more equal share of the world's goodies. Health systems,  affordable housing, a non repressive society where it pays to work. That's left wing ideology.
