My 14 yr old daughter, has just started knocking about with a group of young Skinheads, there's about 20/25 of them in our little Town and surrounding villages, boys and girls....I honestly think they are cool as f**k,and it's great to see them dressed up,and watching all the Karen's,pointing and talking under their breath as they go about their days no fucks given😉👍

Let kids be kids and dress how they want . I can never understand schools forcing uniforms on them.

It doesn't do anything other than piss kids off.

Uniform is the most humane thing ever invented for school…..I will Let you figure out why.

But as for adding your own details, yes, kids should be allowed to do that…..

Disagree. It does nothing to distinguish between poor and rich kids. The rich kids renew their uniforms every few months whereas the poor kids wear theirs all year. It's easy to tell them apart.

There's a million ways poor kids are separated at school. Different colour dinner tickets if a kid receives free meals. . No access to parent paid  school trips, no access to paid musical tuition, teachers often treat the kids of pushy parents with more respect etc. Kids can't hide their circumstances. Often schools pick on hair styles, piercings etc, because they are favoured by poorer, working class  kids. They supposedly give the school,a bad name.

School uniform is a British thing . I've seen kids from Europe on school trips and it is difficult to distinguish kids  from teachers . They are all wearing casual clothing. That's a good thing imo.

School uniform creates friction between teachers and kids needlessly. The world isn't going to stop because a kid has green  hair or a ring in their nose.

My old man used to make me empty out my wardrobe every so often and he would drop sacks of clothes into the Headmasters office to distribute to all the poor little c**ts off the Ferrier Estate and places like that…..this would have been around 1978/79

I was sworn on pain of shame to never open my mouth at school about it……poor little b*****ds were filthy, in absolute rags !
Uniform goes a long way to mitigating that……I don’t care what anyone says, it’s does and that’s not an opinion it’s a stone cold fact.

Uncle Eddie's I used to hear my mate calling it think it was some education clothing grant from the council even though me or my kids never needed it a lot did in Rotherham due to very high unemployment in the Thatcher years.

I refused free school meals. Too embarrassed.  So I went to a bakers where my aunty worked. I would hand over a penny and she would give me a pie and a cake and give two pennies back in change. Her  boss never cottoned on.lol

Who says there's no such thing as a free lunch?

If it wasn't for the free school uniform , I wouldn't have had any clothes at all , and if it wasn't for free school meals , I wouldn't have had any lunch either.

I might be in a minority , but looking back , I was f***ing glad of a school uniform.

I did occasionally get clothes , but they were always second hand . I never had new clothes until I was working , and bought my own.

That's what's always pushed me to work and earn money . I was f***ing well determined that my kids would never feel the shame of going to school in dirty clothes with holes in them.

Since my kids took there first breath , I've always made sure that they've had everything they've needed , and some to spare. They always had the best trainers , the best clothes,  the best phones,  and enough food that they could leave some on the plate because they had full bellies.
