Funny ain't it ...some motors I recon are just lucky....or possibly they don't look like any kind of threat to plod....me and me mate chipped in together and bought a Bedford rascal pick up.....remember the little sooty and Sweep van....we were out all time poaching in that little thing driving about all hours....it didn't even have an old tax disc in the corner....not MOT...no insurance...never ever got stopped in....

My tipper wasn’t exactly inconspicuous! lol

This is obviously not the actual motor but it was exactly like this !……a 17 year old behind the wheel, plodding round Essex over loaded to f**k….what could possibly go wrong ! lol

Born ‘72 so limited memories of the 70’s, but a really early memory is my old fella had this ancient works van with a crank handle. He was chuffed to bits when they gave him a green Morris van.
My transport, apart from the hand built go-karts or ‘bogeys’ as we called them, I had the obligatory Raleigh bikes. First was a Boxer, then my brother’s old Commando (which got nicked) and lastly a Grifter. Last two had the three-speed gear hub, notorious for slipping in 2nd. Lost count of how many times the pedals would spin from under me as the little yellow flag on the twist grip told me I’d gone from 1st/3rd ‘nearly’ into 2nd before landing on the crossbar bollocks first.
