Strange as I have dropped from 21,282 to 12,724 but in reality I've gone from a "perceived" affluent area stuck in the middle of Bristol surrounded by shit crime ridden estates to a actually semi rural area surround by countryside in Somerset. I suppose its all relative as I know where I prefer.    

Just did a check on 2 postcodes less than 0.4miles apart in Bristol went from 17,438 to 1,177.

It’s hard to tell in reality unless it’s at either end of the scale in the U.K., then it’s maybe obvious….but middle class areas ?, you just wouldn’t know.

Won’t name the individual but I used to regularly see a member of the aristocracy in a supermarket close to where I was working, the chap was well on in years by now, cutting about in a very old land rover, smoke belching out the back…, he’d be wearing filthy jeans and an old parka and would make the average tramp look well turned out. Not sure his (families) net worth but it’d be in the hundreds of millions. Heard his son recently sold a single (JW Turner) painting from their collection for > £30million. What’s that saying about books and their covers.
For a lot these days, and particularly the younger ones, image is everything. Fake tans and Turkey teeth, designer togs and German motors.., and all on the never never. Living in hock is normal and almost none can see they’ve been conned into a lifetime of it.
