Yes that’s a great example of the difference between a whippet grey vs a saluki grey on the run up, that hare was given at least 100 yard start and Tay got to it more like 20 lengths ahead of the other dog and kept going for a good while aswell before it pulled up, can you put it up on here or anything, I’ve actually got the whole day on tape I’ll send it to Mchull he’ll be devastated 🤣

Tay was Geoff Fletchers non-ped whippet grey wasn’t it ? He bred some top class non/peds, including this one, I used to enjoy talking to him.

We're we  go there will be no loping there trying for cover half a mile.away a grey  aint bending one mate

You ever seen a grey in the slop on a hare ?

That greyhound pup I had for a bit could bend a hare in the middle of January at 6 months old, never had a coursing bred dog do that before, all I’m saying is a good greyhound is going to beat any other dog getting to hare on the run up off 100 yard slip, I’m not saying there better dogs far from it

Yes a black dog like an absolute missile getting to a hare but I’m sure it wouldn’t of beaten any of Mac’s dogs getting to a hare 😅

The 30 or so ive seen over the years must a been shite greyhounds then

Must be why men after  ww2 in winter raced  em on the old air fields  Once the rain come

Why at  a coursing meet they would laugh and walk off if I took them to this land

My pal had s sister to it called Go2, it still holds track records for 200 yards.

A lad on here had two of Geoffs dogs that were amongst the first to break 8 seconds for 150 yards.
Taysider had a dog bred by Beddy Dave sired by Geoffs dog, dam was beddy:whippet/greyhound that won the Scottish Lurcher Derby,

Geoff could certainly breed a top class non-ped, I’ve seen quite a few.

Cheers.

No pics , this was back in the 60’s and 70’s. I was there many times, were you ?

Why do you contradict things that men have seen and done before you were born ?

You come across like a spoilt child desperate to be right.

Ive avoided getting involved in your nonsense for a while but sadly have been sucked in again .
I’ll gladly reply and converse with others on this thread, but I’ll not be replying to you, it’s pointless.

Cheers.

They were probably fed up of arguing with you by the time they got there 😂 and you probably convinced them they would never bend a hare with all this talk of slop they probably thought they were going to sink in up to there necks as soon as they set foot on the fields so made a quick escape before there was men and dogs scattered all around the feild drowning in this bottomless land

I have seen the course on here before, but I cannot find it on YouTube now, I remember the event being considerably different to the later lurcher coursing competitions in that only one hare was seen to be caught even though it was double handed
