 Back in my early 20's,we used to get the food waste from the local nut hospital ,black bin bags of all sorts,used to go between 6/7 lads ,we all had  kennels, allotments ,yards full....dunt matter if it was shepherds pie, cucumber sandwiches or spotted dick and custard..mixed with a cheap bag of Dr John's... lurchers,terriers,hounds, spaniels all smashed it down them,be fat as buttergo all day...some of the best  dogs, I was around growing up,that set the bar...were fed nothing but pies and pasties because the lads old man worked at a bakery ....

Mate, correct me if I'm wrong. But haven't you advocated not saying incriminating things on here. Yet you just posted the above. Have meet ups at back of a boozer with seriously marked up charges. However, I think your running dogs all day but not running them to peak and reach top levels just work loads. For instance, in the beaters cart spaniels and labs can look seriously depleted half way through a season. Most shooers and keepers just throw a cheap complete meal down. Only one lad asked me how I fed coursing dogs. The guy was genuinely interested. I advised him to add a bit beef with good animal fat or melted lard and also soak his meal with warm water. Which he done. He definitely found his dogs recovery far quicker and this Springer kept a good back on it with it seemingly handling harsh weather days a bit better. Was that coincidence. Each to their own is my motto

And my earlier post  was to highlight the fact that no matter how much you pay, or how good the breeding is, it certainly DOESN'T guarantee anything.

And, like franks dad said, what made that particular pup stand out that much from it's littermates, that someone was prepared to pay £25k for it?!
