A woman I dated for a while , sat on the edge of the bed crying one day ( thats nothing unusual after one of my dire attempts at lovemaking).  She said that 8k had just been taken out of her bank account . She called the bank , and within the space of a few minutes , the bank had confirmed that it was a phishing scam , and just put the 8k back into her account.

I wash a bit shocked by it all , and for a bank to just hand over 8k like it was 10p , must mean that it's nothing unusual , and happens all the time.

My mrs had a few small transactions on her card a few years ago . The money was being spent at a small Asian supermarket near Handsworth in Birmingham. She called the bank , and they just stopped the card .  She still had the card in her purse , and the bank said that it will have been cloned in one of the shops that she used it in ( that card was only ever used at the asian petrol station up the road). The bank said that the scammers will often take a few small amounts , and then go for the big one.

Paki petrol stations are at that cloning scam all the time ! It’s just f***ing standard.

Apparently it's very common wilf . It was a new one on me to be honest mate.

I can't see why or how , the people doing this aren't being caught , and getting f****d by the law.

Why aren't banks just saying " right , we don't deal with that shop/petrol station any longer" ?.

Had a letter through a couple of weeks ago from a debt collection agency, saying I owed £76 for non payment of a direct debit on a car insurance.. rang them as I had just paid ours all up front, so didn't even have a direct debit.. turned out it was for a black BMW (never owned one), bloke said I'd been a victim of identity theft as they had took the insurance out in my name, address etc.. I had to get a crime number and send it through, within a few days I got a letter saying the account was closed and no debt... f**k knows how they got my identity, or why, as I am pretty inactive on line, don't use internet banking for any personal accounts, haven't even got my bank card on my phone, I've got one personal debit card and one business debit card, never had a credit card in my life.., wife and kids call me a dinosaur lol... I quite like pissing people off by using cash still lol...  but they got it somehow it makes you think how easy it must be... wankers

I was away for a few weeks with work wise and I received a notification requesting my eBay pass word in a text

I checked my emails and seen that my eBay account had been locked out with a password change

then the notifications started on my phone as reception came in

20 pound spent

19.99 transaction

25.99 transaction

37.99 transaction

About 500 quid all up , I was slowly being scammed , robbed , pillaged of all my hard earned wages, whilst I was sat in the Kenyan ulu, nowhere to go, I rang the bank on the abroad number , they were amazing , security checks passed , a list of transactions that I didn’t recognise , eBay , ambre solaire , the cheeky c**ts had even been on booking.com and booked a Wednesday hotel overnight in Durham .

this was it , I was seething , I was gonna turn up , and iron them out with a fire extinguisher “here ya are you cheeky b*****ds , have this with your complimentary English breakfast and views of the river , you f***ing prick ! “

The fraud team were great , they blocked my card and were about to refund the money when the agent suddeny noticed that the eBay orders were to be posted to an address in North Yorkshire , then it clicked .

Don’t think I’ve ever been scammed I often hear people talking about scam phone calls but I don’t think I’ve ever had one. If anyone rings that I don’t know the number I never answer anyway. Pulling off scams however? I could write a book 🤣
