Coin Cutting

My first attempt was a 1981 2p the year my Lad was born, gave it to him as a key ring.

Second attempt is a key ring for the Lads Wife. A 1927 crusty old one penny.

This ie the third try because Wifey liked the Hare looking at the moon.

Still needs a bit of tidying up with the needle files, work in progress. 1895 penny.

Do you break many saw blades?

Much finer blades mate 0/4 keep snapping the buggers its the most frustrating thing about it. Try and put picture up later when I go to the shed.

Yes , l remember  well the frustration  from my time " on the peg " . First  proper job l had was as a jobbing jeweller.

Trying to remove  bits of broken saw blades from  finger tips was never amusing😟 

Running the blade down a bit of wax  makes  it ( a bit) less likely to catch . I bet you probably know that though.

Yeah I just realised I ordered some more blades and order 4's instead of 4/0 big difference. Ah well it's all a learning curve and I was only practicing and they turn out better than I thought they would. I used some grotty coins that took a lot of cleaning up but it gave them a sort of hammered affect that I quite like.

Changed the fixing to the key ring with some scrap silver chain Wifey had think it looks a lot better.
