A great story for the lads, it's fascinating to wonder wether any of them would have made it big if they never met each other, I think so. As for Lennon & McCartney, both equally as talented, for me Paul made the better melodies, the catchy tunes that the public sway towards, but I think Lennon was more gritty, a better lyricist and when he wrote something more melancholic, definitely more emotional. gnipper 6,787
The scouse accent has changed too over the years I'd say from when the beatles were young, like the London accent seems to be with all them gangster bellends.

mitre 284
There are alot of strong accents like scotch and Irish and people from Newcastle as long you able to understand their tone of accents and communicate with them that's all you need too but it shouldn't be a issue

There's a clip of the Actor Jason Isaacs being interviewed on an American chat show where he does different accents. For scouse he does the Beatles as they sounded at the start of there careers and after they wanted to sound more American and it pretty much explains your point about there accents. It's also possible they toned them down for interviewers to make them easier to understand. I'm from Durham pretty much in the middle of Sunderland and Newcastle and if I talk normally to someone from out of the area they can't understand me, we talk quite fast, I have to slow down to be understood.
