Something else i have learnt

Recommended Posts

The Mrs has been having a problem with her thumb on her left hand for Months and Months, All i hear is ouch, Ouch all day. She has been to the Dr`s twice and sent for an X-ray on it, But they x-rayed her wrist and hand, Not her bloody thumb, Anyway the Doc says she will refer her to a consultant, Two weeks or so later two letters come through the letterbox. One from Leicestershire NHS and the other from Warwickshire NHS. ( We live right on the border between the two counties) The Leicestershire one is offering an appointment in 42 weeks time. The Warwickshire one gives the option to book an appointment at various Hospitals and a booking reference to quote when you decide on which one.  Clicking on the hospitals on the list, The waiting times were anything from 30 odd weeks to 54 weeks, Then i found one that came up as 2 weeks, so i booked that one. The conformation letter arrived in around 3 days, I googled where the hospital was and it turned out it was in the grounds of The University Hospital of Coventry and was a private hospital, Today we arrived for her 1pm appointment. Man on the car park conducting traffic, walked in the entrance to the main reception and booked in, The receptionist told us the parking was free, just enter the car reg number into the iPad on the desk.

At precisely 1pm the consultant called her in, asked about what the problem was, Pressed directly on the problem area, After a loud Ouch, He said you need an X-ray. I am now thinking this is going to be a long day, He walked us across the foyer straight into x-ray, we booked in at reception. within 2 minutes the x-ray woman called her in, a couple of minutes later she was out. The receptionist asked to go and sit back in the main reception, We had only just sat down and the consultant calls us again, Shows us what's wrong and tells us she needs an operation and she will not be able to use her hand for up to 4 months after the operation, He then tells us it will be him doing the operation and it will be done within the next 8 weeks,

We were back in the car on the way home by 1.30pm, Why can this hot be repeated by the NHS, I don't mean the A&E but the consultants clinics.

Anyway i never knew that an NHS patient could go to a private clinic on the NHS, But i checked and this is what i found,

NHS Patients Requesting Treatment in Private Hospitals

NHS patients can request medical treatment in a private hospital. Patient Choices was introduced by the government to increase the competition and choices available.

Your GP may simply refer you to a consultant they know in the NHS. However, it is currently your right to choose where you are treated, and some may find that by asking a few questions they can receive an NHS funded operation in a private hospital. In theory, this could be in a shared room, but in practice, the experience is often identical to the private patient, except a few menu choices and perhaps a fee to use the TV.

ps  , i think the reason why people are getting private  treatment on the NHS,  is to bring waiting  list down on the NHS, well thats what my wife thinks ?

My missus had a hip replacement at a private hospital, the Nufield, done on the NHS.

The service was excellent .

Cheers.

But the question would have to be, How much more or less did that level of service in the private sector cost compared to the NHS? I suspect the answer would be, Enlightening Lol.

I had an op and got sent to a private hospital, food, private room, treated very well all on the nhs, I kept expecting a bill to come threw the door for the difference. The doctors are normally the same as nhs as they go between the 2. ( helps if a very good friends a doctor too hahaaa)

I had mine done in a private hospital and was told it was because the nhs had booked so many beds to cope with the pandemic that never was they were using those bed spaces to try to reduce the backlogs ??

I am writing this from HMP Middlesex, a female prison.

I knew I was going to go down for a considerable stretch due to my nocturnal activities. I therefore concocted a cunning plan. I approached my GP and told him I desperately need a sex change. I told him I had been living a lie and, even at my advanced age, my dearest wish was to become a woman. It worked a treat. He immediately sent me to a private clinic where I undertook lots of counselling. They sent me away to think carefully about the consequences of lopping off my cock and balls and having them replaced with a designer vagina.

My plan worked well at first.  The judge was very understanding and sent me to a female nick. Unfortunately, my plan to copulate with as many female prisoners  as I could whilst doing my time has not gone well. I thought my fellow prisoners would be delighted to have a rampant male amongst them. Unfortunately I am subject to daily ridicule and violence. I have been called 'f***ing Les Dawson lookalike", "tiny cock" And "disgusting, pervy old man". On several occasions I have been stripped naked and ritually humiliated with a brush handle.

If it hadn't been for fast tracking into a private clinic  I would still be languishing on an NHS list.  Private clinics are beneficial to many, but alas, they have been my downfall.

On a serious note..I think the government provided the NHS with several billions to deal with the backlog in operations after Covid. Hence the use of private clinics.
