Whats at the end of the pier these days mate ?.......havent walked it for a few years now might have a little stroll up there at the weekend apparently the Red Arrows are landing at Southend Airport on Sunday,thought it would be a nice spot to see them. There’s a couple of restaurants you can get a beer food ect the RNLI have a big base there and a shop, much more going on than a few years back the train isn’t as frequent we didn’t use it, but they have two out of action one derailed and one hit the buffer stops both driver error apparently they only get 40 hours training. Quite busy in the decent weather but a lovely walk if it’s not too windy. Best place to see the Red Arrows is in the Holiday Inn at Southend Airport in the bar on the 5th floor overlooking the runway if you know what time they are landing and taking off.
