comanche 3,285
A very old friend and l manage a few days fishing together every season. He usually out catches me . When l do catch something decent it is almost always by some fluke or in odd circimstances. Not only that , it's a standing joke that l only ever catch disabled fish . One classic example of many was a 5lb tench caught a year or two ago from his club lake . I was marvelling at the perfection of my biggest tench ever when my mate cruelly pointed out that it had two fins missing! Anyway, a week ago he came as a guest on the little farm pond l have permission on, and trounced me on home ground. Of the five tench he caught a couple were particularly good for a farm pond . A nice roach and a few hard fighting little carp also came to his net . I was really pleased ; it's great when a guest does well. For my part l did manage some tiddlers and a reasonable tench but true to form it was a bit defective. Cue some mild micky taking at my expense as my mate did the netting honours . A couple of days later l had a session on my own .Bites were slow to come but a large brown goldfish thingy provided a surprise. A bigger surprise came whenI also caught the same bloomin wonky tench l'd had just two days previously! Thus cementing my reputation for only being able to catch weird fish or those with disabilities! 1 1 Quote Link to post
