Jury service

While we're on the topic, is there a general minimum time since sentence/crime to wait before even asking for a license?

GBH without intent and a 2 year suspended being the worst on the list for the individual. Legally it's not a hard no (3 years custodial being the threshold) but I expect some time will have to pass to build up evidence of good character.

We accept all kinds on THL. If you said you were a woman when you were born a man, or vice versa, we understand.  You are with friends BB. I hope they held you in non binary custody.

That's what I had in my head. Is it since sentencing, sentence served or crime? He was 18 months on bail. Either way it's not far off now.

They're wank with grants nationally now anyway so I suppose it's a moot point.

I always thought qny violence on your record would stop you getting a fac or any gun licence come to that ,if you have  violence on your record you got no chance of getting fac and those who say they have are not telling us the full picture, same as mental health problems your just not getting one .

I think it depends on the type of crime too, I’d suspect any type of violence is looked on poorly.

A sentence takes 10 years and that depends on the crime ,any violence, gun crime or any sentence over 12 months stays with you for life

Atheists don’t get to do  jury service and I’m proof of that .Been asked twice and just wrote back saying I’m an atheist .Never heard back .

Only time I’ve been in court as a witness I refused to swear on their book and then asked to step down .

Ill be glad when this religious shite is well and truly forgotten .

That may be a general rule applied at the discretion of the forces but iirc it's not explicitly stated by law or the official Home Office guidance.

100%, once you have a record, you have given the licensing dept. much more freedom to refuse and grant.

where you got that idea from...you don't have to swear on the bible in court if your atheist....I think it's called afermation...you just promise to tell the truth..

as for writing back and telling them your atheist ....wouldnt have been the atheist bit that stopped you ...it will have been you saying you didn't want to do it..
