so what we have gathered from this is you like a drink but don’t smoke so therefore smoking is bad and should be banned but drinking is fine and shouldn’t be ?

You are a simple creature aren’t you.

Alcohol causes as much or more misery as tobacco.

But ultimately the issue here is that I don’t believe a government should be quite so able to tell us what we can and cannot do.

Self determination is incredibly important and something no government should be able to take away from us.

but they already do, theres a great big f***ing list of things you cant do. think they call em laws

Says the man that claims to be a big hunter yet weeps when he sees a hare on the floor. ?

I'm not like you trying to claim one vice should be excused, alcohol is no good, I will admit that.

Some of them are impractical or unfit for purpose, for guidance rather than set in stone, they are like eggshells, made to be broken, or at least flexible.

I think we all grasp that. Look if you’re happy to live in a society where everything you do, say and think are controlled and your job is just to live in your neat wee box be a good citizen, toe the line and work to make the government money ...... crack on. But some of us quite like some of the freedoms of choice we still have left.

Mate you really do come across as a grade A tool. But the upside of your first comment there is it explains why you argue like you do, you just don’t understand what other folk are saying. Not your fault I guess.

Yer I consider myself a hunter mate, and I don’t consider running over hares with a motor or throwing multiple dogs at them after chasing them to f**k with a hero hunting. But if you do and that’s the way you are yours conduct yourselves out hunting , crack on.

As to your second bit I’m not claiming any vice should be ignored, but you just can’t in my eyes cherry pick what you like and don’t like. If you can drink 8 cans of Stella at home and not be considered harmful to society then I should be able to do the same work a fag.

Oh I do understand what you're saying and what you're saying is complete rubbish.

Passive smoking is the direct result of the substance, the impacts of alcohol are due to human behaviour.

Wether you smoke away from children or not, the poisons still stay on your clothes.

It is a disgusting habit, end of.

I wasn’t doing that though was I. You’re going to end up making yourself sound really really stupid if you go down this path. But I’ll give you a cookie if you can find anywhere I’ve been crying about folk running hares ?

in the eyes of the law it poaching not hunting; the same as roost shooting a few birds or sneaking through a hedge for a few rabbits or coursing in the daytime . your on the wrong side of the law

the same as pick pocketing or ram raiding - theft

weed or herion - drug abuse/dealing

your own personal moral line is irrelevant

So you’re saying that the impacts of alcohol have nothing whatsoever to do with the result of it as a substance ? The fact that is it alcoholic and gets folk drunk ? That factor has zero to do with its impact ?

I don’t know about you mate but I don’t have many kids sniffing my clothes. In fact I would imagine I go most days without being 50 yards from a child.
