Same as most veteran lurcher enthusiasts,..I've enjoyed walking out with many different running dog hybrids? Loved them all and had success,.. and of course,..failures with them all..? AS fo

Some time back I watched a lads lurcher bitch jump over a sheep fence chasing a rabbit, the rabbit came back through and the bitch jumped back over this went on over a distance up the fence she did na

Tried calling my whippet of one or two risky chases, heart in my mouth sometimes, and eyes closed but she survived , only to succumb to cushings , cracking worker lived for work and so i put work in f

Only way to stop it, seen one travel 3 fields because it had heard a baa. f**k having to worry about that, luckily wasn't my dog or land

I've been.out with boys who have had a shock collar on the dog, wouldn't leave go on full blast?had to use s breaking stick ? that's not for me...Most important thing for me..is a dog broken to sheep...can't be living needing eyes in your arse...start that nonsense and they meet their maker, don't care how good at a job they may be?

I don't think jumping is necessary, extra pressure on joints and increases chances of injury. It's a nice to have but doesn't really matter imo

If a dog can't jump round here you'll be missing a lot of stuff.

Same dog was tried with shock collar, jumped and kept running.

Think sometimes aswell they think it's what they're holding/seeing causing the pain and not the collar. This subject came up with my old man the other day; when I was a teenager we had a bullx pup that was a c**t for digging up the garden. You could watch him but as soon as you turnt away he'd dig. One day put the collar on him and gave him a blast when he started digging, he would watch that hole he'd dug out the corner of his eyes and never trusted it again

As i just said to dogmandont we got solid hedges so things go through em not over them.

You wouldn't want a dog jumping backwards and forwards over the mesh imo, takes too long and not an issue I've ever seen tbh.

No I just open gates and walk through em

Good strong dog wouldn't let it reach the hedge

What if you slip 200yds deer in stride dog has to get to it ??

In all seriousness if a dog is putting enough pressure on then most times deer would bounce off the hedge as they haven't got the time to think about jumping

Even on the lamp they will clear hedgerows

I know a few dogs that are catching deer regularly that haven’t been taught to jump that have some good body counts ?my old collie x bitch wasn’t taught to jump an she did very well on roe deer she was self taught to jump but never really needed it
