Rabbit Pie ! And, for the purists, made with shortcrust pastry, NOT puff pastry ! ? ! Cheers.

Treat off my dad tonight, he's a friend on the fresh fish stall up town... Scallops and lemon sole fillets...

Family get together at ours, so a bit of a spread.. 13 hour cooked brisket, slow cooked pork shoulder.. Home made coleslaw, stuffing, roasties... and a 2 day hangover! Lol

this looks boring  as someone else ..."its just boiled vedge and stuff"

cooked it last night with extra chick and vedge stock cubes ...onions...baby pots..carrots,,,celery....rose/parsely/tymne/sage and a spoonful of redcurrant jelly...........left it overnight added chick meat today and heated it up and served....

if i was brave i would have eaten this with 1/2 a loaf of fresh tiger loaf and butter.....(but that would kill me now)

Her good self has been making pheasant and mushroom pies , and using mushroom soup with the filling. She's been making some damned fine pheasant pasties , and spicey patties as well.  If I eat any more pheasant,  I'll be growing feathers 😁

Tinned soup: Fred J Taylor who wrote on cooking for Shooting Times, claimed that tinned chicken soup with rabbit pieces cooked on low temp made one of the best rabbit casseroles out there. Also, my Mamgu would use tinned soups to make all sorts of casseroles and stews. Cheers. Aled
