Ken's Deputy 4,462
Actually, I've just looked 'twice' at that image and realised it's not for real. She's out of kilter with the " Thighs " in the foreground. It'll probably end up being someone's arms, or something. Good fun though

Food spend used to be 50% of household budget and one parent could stay home no bother. Now food spend is 8% of household budget and both parents have to work like dogs and they still never have money spare (as a rule) None of that happened by accident. There has been a systematic transfer of wealth and the value of labour over to the state and its financial institution mates. This has happened at the expense of the family unit, the British village, the British town, the industry and it has led to massive social problems. They don’t want people to prosper they want debt slaves and they are quiet willing (or have been thus far) to sacrifice everything that we ever held dear, our culture and our values.....those things just get in the way. They have subsidised the point of sale cost of food to create a false illusion of wealth, the fact is food is just as expensive except you now pay it in tax to a whole list of civil servants and politicians and the farmer don’t see hardly any of it. The rhetoric they have used to kill our culture and feed us shit is that “we shouldn’t care”.......to care is to be a nut case, shouted down and outcast.....sometimes imprisoned. As I never, ever tire of saying......everything matters, everything is connected. I agree with some of that but I also believe that change has come about through personal choice, with many examples being given on here of families that clearly choose the high spend, high debt low family time route. I guess I'm more a believer in we get what we deserve through our own choices rather than believing its been planned by government. We massively value family time and cut our cloth accordingly to build our life around that.

I agree with loads of that mate, however it’s a mindset that has been actively promoted imho as part of a wider thing. Again, creating the illusion of wealth and keeping people happy. All the change against empire in the last century came about because people had nothing to loose. Well, they have solved that by giving them everything to loose and as such they (governments) have gotten away with murder. There was no such thing as a “credit report” when I was a kid, now those adverts sell the message that it’s a passport to happiness and I think that is totally deliberate. I also chose family by the way.
