So they are Phoning daily knowing they are not within the guidelines and will be refused the jab come on man, stop talking shit to further your case, I don’t work in the nhs and only know a tiny percentage of the medical professionals that you should and I know a few that will refuse it as long as possible, I also no nurses that lie about taking the flu jab yearly, unless you and south hams do actually live in utopia I think there is a little bit of fibbing going on and not every person in your area are as compliant as you are trying to portray ?

Is it the other way and they're lieing to you because they don't want to hear your opinion?

There's a huge, massive difference between being apprehensive of the vaccine and being an "anti-vaxxer". I've said many times, I'm on the fence about it, but under certain circumstances I'd have it.

Of course I think the government have made mistakes , but I put that down to incompetence, not conspiracy. They are not trying to kill us, or destroy the economy, they simply haven't faced such a situation before.

Anyone who thought the politicians should get everything right from the start, has far more faith in them than I have !

Perpetuating fake news is not only stupid, it's downright dangerous ! Scarring the old and the vulnerable into not taking the vax could cost them their lives.

As I said, I'm ambivalent about the vaccine, but if there was the slightest chance it would save my life, I'd be queuing up to take it.

BY the time they get round to doing 69 year olds, I may have more information to make my mind up !

Cheers.

They prob being told get it or  maybe loose your job ?

We aren't being pressured at all. Most of us are getting it because we see what's happening first hand and we want it to stop. Understanding the science isn't hard if you sit down and have a look at it. Which is what I did ?

Got mine on Christmas eve. Sore arm for 12 hours. That's it. Still haven't grown gills or extra limbs ?

I don't generally like people on the best days and social distancing is one of my super powers, but even I'm feeling the mental stress off all this, never mind what's happening in the hospitals. If taking the jab gives us a chance then I'm happy to roll up my sleeve.

Greyman, i may challenge perceptions and cause discomfort by the direct nature of my posts, but i never lie.

I know a fair few health professionals from multiple roles both professionally and personally from around the world and personally I have not met a single nurse, doctor,. physo, OT, pharmacist etc who is not planning to have or already had the Covid vaccine, I'm sure there will be some that do, basically being a nurse or doctor doesn't necessarily exclude stupidity, but they will be in the great minority.

The only moral way to go about it is say here is a vax take it or leave it before we craic on ?

People are scared, I get that. Conspiracy theories abound, folks are naturally suspicious. The media are generally a shower of shit stirrers and it's hard to trust in what we're told. But this situation is awful, my colleagues have been ill, hospitalised, lost multiple family members ... I have 3 teenagers whose lives pretty much suck right now. I want it to get better, and imo the vaccine is a chance at that. I would encourage people to read up and try to understand how it works, make an informed choice for themselves ... be part of the solution.

I'm fair sick of the doom and gloom.

Also sick of the tramps who would normally be in the pub, out in the countryside chucking their rubbish around and generally annoying me with their constant presence. Be good if they could feck off as well ?

How is just not wanting a vax for something that ain’t killing them or their kids a conspiracy ?

What i mean Max is that there's a ton of misinformation in our faces. People convinced it's a conspiracy etc. Can't deny that.

It is killing plenty of people, leaving them with life changing issues and bringing the NHS to it's knees. It needs to stop.

You're well within your rights to refuse it  and not be judged tho. That's ok too ?

Can you produce any evidence the vax ain’t harmful to those taking it now or in ten years or twenty years time in any way shape or form ?

What we do know is this virus has a 99.8% survival rate and that’s even if you catch it.

We also know it’s not killing kids so why risk a vax with them .

We also know the average age of a Covid death is 83

4 years over the average life expectancy

We also know only 388 people under the age of 60 in GB out of 70 million have died of Covid with no underlying health conditions

So using the above evidence is it  really worth the risk for fit healthy people to have a vax what’s not killing them or their kids ?

And is it morally right and democratic to force these people or anyone for that matter to have a vax if they just don’t want it ?

so where are you getting your figures from?? Karen of facebook or are you actually able to read some real science??

https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/will-natural-herd-immunity-end-the-pandemic/

The main reason to vaccinate children is to create herd immunity but also children do die and or become seriously ill from Covid, its simple really, a safe vaccine to protect society as a whole, especially our older people, don't they deserve protecting or should we just let them die??

Freedom of Choice Sandy

That’s a Democracy end of

no ones denying freedom of choice, certainly not me but that's not what this is about, its about people spreading false information, basically people need information to make an informed decision and i for one feel that karen on facebook perhaps isn't the person to be given credence when we have lots of scientific evidence and specialist providing evidenced based information.
