In a topic that involves ,football ,and NUFC  , Max could make Greb seem like a reasonable chap who doesn't like a never ending argument .

He'd have a saluki and a white bed sheet bought the day they took over.

Given that no one agrees with you I’d suggest it ain’t. Its Max-sense and Max-morals.... Part of the greater world view that is Maxology

Now all jibes aside, that is spot on Balckmag.

Its just a simple fact that Sunderland have never mattered to the wider football world as much as Newcastle United, everyone knows that.

And given that they are a former top flight club in free fall they matter even less.

It’s an absolute no brainer that an investor looking to buy a big football club in the north east has only one club to look at and in fairness it’s always been that way.

Newcastle matter......Sunderland don’t, it’s just a reality of football I’m afraid.

I totally agree wilf when fixtures were released Newcastle away was one you looked out for same for most fans ? Sunderland have a big fan base yes big team no there a yoyo team and have been for years ? but the bitterness shown by not just max but most of the mackems is sad really as it would regenerate the North East but I do find Sunderland fans think expect there better than they are there a 3 rd division mid table team ? and now with the cap that's were there staying im afraid? they best get use to it ?

That American did his bollocks, no more big investors will be making that mistake again.........unless they are really, really stupid ! Lol

There are so many reasons why they are a bad investment it’s just not true.

Newcastle is a major British city, Manchester is a major British city, London is obviously London, Liverpool is a major British city

Any clubs in those places will have a selling point, it will have a fan base with a few quid, it will have something you can built a brand on that will attract the 1 million chinkys all these owners want to attract to buy shirts.

Can you imagine a bus load of chinkys rocking up in Sunderland, stepping off the bus into a pile of dog shit ?.......they would think some c**t was having a bad joke and had taking them to the heroshima memorial ! Lol

Jokes aside, there is absolutely f**k all attractive about Sunderland and certainly not globally........that ground has got to be a millstone round their neck at the moment surely ?
I can’t  seriously see who is going to want to take on that club in that ground baring in mind anyone interested isn’t going to be a BIG money investor for all the reasons above

Just read an interesting article concerning the failed takeover.

The author says that if the Saudis were using the intended takeover as " Sportswashing", then the level of support for them and outrage at the EPL over the inaction leading to the deal collapsing has had the positive effect they supposedly wanted, and without spending £300 million!

The petition, the MPs and PM demanding answers, and even that bastion of left wing wokeness, the Guardian, now backing the takeover has guaranteed the positive reaction the Saudis were supposedly hoping for with the takeover !

Who knows ; have they got lucky, or played a blinder ?

Cheers.

Let's see if that statement comes back and bites you on the arse like the one you made half dozen years ago saying the World ain't over populated ??

Do you not think that in your current position and direction of travel that a massive ground that you are unable to fill like you have is a liability ?
The upkeep on the ground alone must be gigantic and football teams rely on charity most of the time anyway.......are you telling me that no potential investor will be having a look at what you bring in as a club compared to what the ground alone costs to run and maintain ?
Are you saying that won’t even come into their head ?

Of course that comes in to it and with no prem money or even parachute payments left it's a big cost added to the fact no money going through the turnstiles they are probably seen as a non viable option short got shut asap Donald can't find a buyer for love nor money there was a couple interested but one look at the books and they've gone like you say wilf Sunderland offers nothing as a area compared to other areas even with investment what player would move his family there

My own feeling is that the Saudis have seen Citeh get away with underhand financial dealings and effectively make the team nationally funded, so they now are going to set up a Saudi-Arabia United FC club.

Most your threads and the usual suspects are about Gov letting in the wrong sorts who's culture is totally diff to ours ect ect ect zzzzzz

BUT either to score browny points at best or worse still being a total hypocrite you think it's ok for foreigners who've failed a fit and proper test who's culture and ways are the type you say you despise is ok because they have a few quid .

Any kind of immigration or investment in this country should only come down to being well vetted and checked and passing that test .

Wether your stood in rags or a trillionaire shouldn't come in to it .
