jetro 5,349
Was reading an article on this, they claim that they can tell what's in your dogs breeding if you didnt/weren't sure. What do you all think. Can it be proven with this DNA test, or is this a way to get money out of gullible dog owners Atb j
Neal 1,930
I could be wrong, but I'm sure I've read somewhere (possibly "The Wolf Within"?) that there are different types of DNA test and that some pick up different elements so, depending on the test, you only pick up on either male or female ancestors. But, as I said, I could be wrong and I could be misremembering or reading betwen the lines.
lurchers 2,998
I’m sure there was someone on here got a dog tested a few years back,I think it was a deerhoundx and the DNA come back with no deerhound in the breeding.

No, it was just an article I read, and was curious. I believe myself that unless your there seeing the mating take place you can never be sure. Atb j

Think it’s slightly more scientific than that mate, born would probably explain it far better than me, but it’s not open up to individual interpretation it either is or is not, as far as I,m aware

samboy 317
My mate had a short legged, long nosed, long tailed African hound. He had it dna'd turned out to be a crocodile.

wilbur foxhound 480
I would have thought to dna your dog they would have to have dna from all dogs in the past breeding of your dog to get a match
