I'll take the calibre that's as lethal as some of the keyboards on here!

I'm going to have a go. See what  all the fuss is over! Fed up with the 22 anyway. I'm going.....are you sitting down..... Go for a 17 hmr! Now you have a short time to talk m

How did you measure the 154yds, by pacing it out? Did you have your shoe laces tied together? ?

Never fired one Ian, are they similar to the 17 or closer to the 223?

It is a centrefire based on a 222 magnum case and superior than either a 17 or 223 imho.

Sounds an expensive round for rabbits?

It costs me forty pence to load a round, a price i am more than willing to pay if i don't have to use a HMR.

Damn it would be cheap at twice the price to avoid it! ?

I tend to favour my 17 over the 22 now a days.

Tools for the job!

The .22 has it's uses, so does the WMR, HMR, etc etc

I don't follow....."I tend to favour one of my 204s over any grimfire".   Rimfires offer a lot of versatility, and many find them very useful.

You don't like the HMR, your choice, and the .204 is a rather marmite calibre, seems people love or hate them, fact is...……….

You don't need a .204 for rabbits unless you are shooting them in the next county, a bit of clout doesn't mean it's the best tool for the job, otherwise people would use their .308 for the rabbit and this "can" happen, whilst it may look like a shotgun it was one centrefire shot!!

I’ve got to say I find threads on what calibre is the best have been done to death. But the more I here about the .204 I reckon I could give one a bit of room in my gun cabinet .

Just to throw a spanner in the works, I shoot 90% of my rabbits with my FX Impact .25 fac air rifle out to 100mt+ and 300 pellets cost me £11ish  ?  but of course as a retired ole tart I have to watch the pennies although I would really like to have a .223 in the cabinet but it is on hold again.............
