I'm saying times were not peaceful before the Romans invaded, the celts were far from united.

Oh I know that.

The Roman wrote that if the celtic tribes ever united no force or military might in the known world at the time could stop them. But they were to busy to see the bigger picture, and kept trying to knock each other off

100%. The British only have control over a small portion of it and look at the trouble that caused.

You called those Republicans of old terrorists, men that lived and died to free THEIR OWN HOME LANDS from an unwanted invading force, the British were the terrorists Chid not the irish.

Only a blinkered bigoted fool would call them such.

You are British we all are these two big islands and a few smaller ones have been called the British isles since before Ireland England etc were ever conceived and the people on them have hopped from one to the other since the last ice age.

I take it you mean the bombing of innocent people.

I certainly don't condone what they did, and I'm not going to try and excuse it.

For me, the fight should have been just taken to the British military, not at any time to innocent people.

These are, right or wrong just my views.

But the question remains.

Say  hypothetically   Isis fighters take over Britain, your forces beaten, government toppled.

Shaira law enforced across the land. Christianity practices outlawed, Islam the only religion allowed

Daily stoneings and beheadings women and children treated like their own.

If you fight back are you a freedom fighter or a terrorist.

Let's face facts England could've squashed Ireland like a bug pretty much anytime in the last 500 years, the ruling classes might have been up for it but there's always been to much home grown resistance too it for it to ever happen and that's because when it all boils down to it were pretty much all cut from the same cloth.

I will  sonmewhat agree with you on the island hopping point, before our two countries were conceived, we are islanders on the most western fringes for Europe.

But I'll have to disagree on been called British. Were not.

They did try a number of times to wipe us out.

Genocide is a bit more drastic and server than just an invasion, would you not agree

It’s always been the common man that’s stood for this country an countless others, when have you ever heard of a battalion of royals of members of Parliament, the truth is we have never had it happen on our soil as such, not like these last couple decades, now it seems the normal working man of these isles is hated an under attack from a large portion if not all Islam, an now we got the home grown jingle bunnies an lefties wanting to make there selves heard, well I think the normal working folk are listening now. The message is being heard, loud an clear, fcuk rasicm, I think the new buzzwords should be traitors an treason

My ancestors weren't born in the British isles, because the British isles didnt exist at the time.

Even the Romans recognised Ireland as a country of its own.

Neither England or Ireland were countries at all they were hundreds of different tribes and they swapped round from island to island constantly and everyone one of them were considered British islanders

Yes I know that and agree with you.

But as far as I'm concerned I'm irish, and happy, and your British happy.

Instead of labelling us under the British name/flag, why not just islanders.
