Put some hinged mesh a squirrel could get through and put a fen trap in it with some grain. I used to do something similar around the pens but haven’t bothered over the past few years, I shot more than 40 just around the farm last year, I keep threatening to have a squzzer day for the kids at the end of the shooting season but never get round to it, maybe now I’ve got a bit more time I’ll organise something for them 2 Quote Link to post

With a bit of luck we will be back to some kind of normality by summer 2021 but there’s no doubt we have a few dark months ahead of us yet, it’s more the social side of the game shooting I miss, having to cancel people’s days is sh*t, so far I’ve only had to cancel Benbhoy’s day ( that will be rearranged) and if we go into lockdown again I’m going to have to cancel my uncle and his partner, which will be sh*t because they have never shot driven game before and both of them were looking forward to it, something a bit different from their clay competitions 1 3 Quote Link to post
Baldcoot 2,352
We got tomorrow and would've had the 2nd Jan but as you say January is looking lockdown again. Boris the sheep follows every thing wee krankie and the Welsh reichsmarschal does without looking at local conditions at all. Many level 3 places shouldn't be and no one enforces the rules properly anyway. Too many maskless intermingled shysters are going to make this run and run coz the rules don't apply to them . Ask Kay Burley or Rita ora why they're exempt and them mp s too 1 Quote Link to post
FOXHUNTER 5,021
I wouldn't hold your breath mate the way its going. National lockdown after Christmas so that's the rest of the season knackered. 2021 will continue like 2020 I suspect. It will take a long time to get everyone vaccinated before things will improve. shovel leaner 7,650
I am watching the news now . I wouldn’t be surprised if we go into another lockdown. I’m hoping we can carry on shooting, but for now we will have a good day tomorrow and maybe a half decent Xmas . All the noises I’m hearing are not good . The game dealer has told me that he won’t be paying for birds now . His plant in Belgium has gone into lockdown. I have a full diary of dates for January cramming in days that were missed from the last lockdown. Who knows if any of them will go ahead ? Quote Link to post
Squirrel_Basher 17,102
It’s shit mate .My game dealer phoned this morning to say he’s shut down for good .Everley game near Andover .He was ticking over for the last month taking a few but says it’s not worth the hassle and he’s retiring . Just when I thought things were bucking up and I could shoot a few does . 1 Quote Link to post
