There’s a carpet of acorns on the woodland floor, no doubt about that, but I’ve still pulled them in with the peanuts. Probably takes a bit longer for them to catch on though. As you say, if we get a cold snap and there’s less natural food around they’ll be on ‘em quicker and in greater numbers. Managed thirteen in a small wood off one feeder over a couple of weeks. Moved that one now as it slowed down and I haven’t seen any in that wood since. I’m going to set some up in the new year in some larger woods if Boris will let me out to play.?
