Did they not used to f**k about with the ratios of gearboxes so they only had 2 gears on an oval track.....or have i dreamed that up from somewhere.

Heard people talk about that before, don't know if it's true or not for bangers but I think some of the big F1 stocks only use a 2 or 3 speed box ..

Lovely motors there, I used to watch top ten of the best, where rocket ronnies skyline always won the day, but I remember a Toyota Corolla with gt4 running gear sitting around 900 bhp winning the handling course, that was some car

They were v6 twin turbo, Mitsubishi responded with the 3000gt or gto but they never really took off like the skyline and galant, the japs knew a thing or 10 about making turbo cars from the late 80s through to the millennia, 90s was their golden era in my mind

I always thought the gto TT was the best looking of the jap 90's turbos, I've got an Impreza turbo to play with at the min quick car for 28 years old at around 340 hp with a few mods. needs a little bodywork but is fun to mess around with.

What kind have ya got any special edition? If yours one of the early ones I think they came with a closed deck engine which is stronger as they just used the legacy engines in the early imprezas, do you plan on keeping it? And how bad is the rot?

Yes it's a cdb that's pretty much why I bought it, rots not too bad, I've kind of been gathering all the bits to build a perfect Impreza, on the lookout for a type r shell, I bought one on copart a while ago but didn't meet the reserve and missed out trying to knock him down I should of just paid it theyve been thinner and thinner on the ground recently might just keep the 4 door and do that up.

Problem with the scoobies is they are just so dam juicy I was putting £60 of premium a week in the xt  just to do 100 miles ,fair enough I've got a lead foot  but still,  then you have the 500 quid a year road tax if it's over a 2006 plate , I'm pretty much paying for the Audi on what I'm saving, I love performance Subaru's but they just don't make any sense in today's world imo

Not as an every day vehicle but just for a bit of fun now and again, GC8 model though and parts are cheap, I’d even be happy with the wagon model,

Forget them, you can get hot hatches quicker nowadays that are more reliable and better on the juice.

I recently went in a work mates tuned Golf R, quite a strange feeling tbh. No doubt it was quick, when he floored it the thing pushed me back in my seat but it felt all too stable and comfortable for me. Nothing like the adrenaline I felt when passenger in an old Civic Type R, that got the juices flowing.

Your right about the Subaru's. They not cost effective in today's world.

That's why I am going for a volvo next family car v40 R design d4. Will do the family for what we need, good Mpg, no road tax and quite nippy with all the bells and whistles and safe
