Pool deaths

Heard on news this morning of 3 people from same family drowning in a swimming pool whilst abroad tragic I know but somethings not right here lads.the pool was reopened next day???

could be the son an dad could not swim very well,dived int the poll and got injured,maybe both had been drinking.lots of reason,s for what was a tragic accident

Under Spanish law there was no need for a life guard at the time , a lifeguard who does work at the swimming pool but was not in work said if a lifeguard had been present there would of been no deaths

Who the f**k leaves their kids in a pool unsupervised??? Hotel worker dived in..... And got in differculty straight away and got out...... Tragic turn of events

Says on the BBC it was unnecessary to have a lifeguard as it was such a small pool, strange one for sure, strange for a grown man to struggle in a hotel swimming pool surely?

Spanish law is different chid mate, the onus is on you None of this compensation culture (well maybe a bit).

Tragic loss to that family, my heart goes out to them.

From what I understand the girl got in difficulties in the pool and then the brother got in followed by the dad. But why they got in there and why no one was around.  Perhaps she fell in .... who knows?  Latest I hear is that because it was a small pool that it didn't have to have a lifeguard.  I wouldn't have thought that it was that warm even there to be in the pool today it is 18 c there so you'd have to be reasonably hardy. Some pools are freezing in the summer out there.

Tragic ,but does seem strange, most hotel pools I've been in are chest deep at the deepest point ,I know you can drown in a saucer ,but would have thought 2 people could pulled a 9 year old out ?

Fair point, but with the article saying it was only a small pool, I was thinking chest high maximum? So to me it seems odd for an adult and 16 year old lad to drown too, I reckon they’ve been electrocuted .

Or a low voltage enough to stun somebody then they would drown.
