The world at war

Recommended Posts

I watched 1st time when it was broadcast with my man and dad and the rest of the family. An education it was. I believe it to be a true document of those times. If it was not, someone would have commented. No adults cried, some of us kids did. Every Sunday night I think it was.

The one about the home guard interested me, there was a group in each area that was going to go underground and fight a guerilla war and eliminate potential traitors, there was a list of targets in each local area, i would have loved to seen the one in my village. Pretty sure who would have been on that list, some of them did pretty well in later years screwing money out of council funds etc. As kids we found a bunker in a wood back of a large house, in later years i learned the history of it. A local doctor was the head of this platoon that occupied this particular hiding place. Interesting stuff that we will possibly never know the full details of.
