I think these figures are out of date. The french now have to work until they are 62 before they get full pension. We have to work until 67.

The french don't take any shit. We do..... continually . Time we started demanding decent schools hospitals housing and hospitals. It's not a lot to ask. You don't have to be a raging commie to aspire to the same living conditions as the rest of the developed world.

I think what you are missing is that the French do not automatically get a full state pension of the figures bandied about. They have to earn it via their contributions. If you were employed as a council manager you would have you full quota of contributions and a relatively high salary to base the pension amount on. If you were an agricultural worker or worked on a building site you might miss some or many of the quarterly contribution targets and have a lower average salary to base the calculations on. There is no easy way to compare UK with French pensions.

On the NHS one of the things that draws far too much money out is PFI. See somewhere the other day a charge of £5500 for a wash basin.

Labour certainly got lost for a while but Corbyn is pure old Labour, just look at his voting record and his position, he's stayed true throughout his career and its been against the party whip a fair but under Blair etc.

I think the Lib Dem’s showed that it’s easy to have morals when you never think you are going to sit in the big chair......however when you are thrust to the fore the promised are, just like every other party, just pie crust.

They will say and do anything for power.......even they don’t talk about being “in office” any more.....it’s all about being “in power”

Not much point out here Wilf. It is a poor agricultural area. There are few if any worthwhile antiques to purchase. I keep trawling the vide greniers (car boot sales) and brocantes (second hand shops) in the hope of finding an old Hardy or Pezon et Michel cane fishing rod or Leica camera, but 99.9% of the stuff is just junk. If it wasn't for the British run charity shops I'd never find a bargain.

I don’t see anything positive about Corbyn being old labour, this country does not need a 1970’s throwback unable to move with the times. You seem completely blinkered to any negativity against Corbyn and labour in general blaming every single problem with Tory budget cuts. Do you feel comfortable voting for someone that supports enemies of our country? That has completely failed to stop antisemitism in his party? A party so intolerant of anyone questioning them that a bbc journalist got booed today for asking questions on their crazy suicide note..I mean manifesto? A man the scores of his own former colleagues has said they can’t vote for as he doesn’t represent the Labour Party they loved? I appreciate you work in the NHS and I am sure you work your arse off to help people and I have enormous respect for that (my mum and sister work in the NHS and I although I don’t i hear their varied views on the problems the NHS faces!) but to suggest the NHS just needs more money thrown at it is naive to the point of ignorance the wastage in so many areas is mind boggling and if it were a private company it would have folded years ago. Surely you must acknowledge that immigration and health tourism has placed a huge burden on the nhs? Labour’s manifesto today says they will carry on with free movement of people. The answer to every problem is not to just throw money at it, we have a huge issue in this country with just trying to spend our way out of our problems. Whoever is in government needs to show some fiscal responsibility frankly as our debts are higher than at anytime outside war as a percentage of GDP and BOTH main parties just want to spend spend spend and at it is going to hurt the country at some point and then so called ‘Tory austerity’ will look like a nothing in comparison!

The worst thing ever for a business or a country is lack of investment. Look at our roads, railways, education etc etc. We're follow austerity into the 3rd world or act like we are one of the richest countries in the world and invest in our future.
