Shooters can definitely decimate an area using thermal imaging.A local keeper was telling me that he and another keeper i know sat out on his park a few months back watching 150+ fallow casually moving from the woods out into the fields and back one night. He said the most theyve ever seen at once on the lamp in the 12years hes keepered there is maybe 30 tops and the norm is usually half a dozen to 15.

Lad I know said the rifle lads use them by him and the fox population has took an hammering last season

You ever seen anyone you would rather not bump into in these spots and managed to avoid a meeting?Sounds perfect for fishing on rivers that don't like uninvited guests.

Yes mate helps with a lot of things and I always take it fishing with me aswel. Good to see what’s about while your waiting for your rod to go. My dogs also a c**t and likes to kill things I don’t really want him too so atleast I can avoid things if that’s the case. Good to be able to see what’s a couple of fields away as if he picks stuff up on Scent when I’ve slipped him on something else there no stopping him ?

How well can you spot roosting birds with a thermal? Not to shoot them or anything, just to look at them.

With little or no leaf cover very easily.... They can't see through solid matter though (heavy leaf cover). No matter what folks think it's no f***ing Hollywood X-ray vision. LOL. There has to always be some direct line of sight.

Likewise they can't see through windows. The thermal image is that of the window.

IMO they're not the tool of a sportsman. It's too easy in my experience. Certainly with a rifle. With a running dog I can see the justification, especially for covert operations:whistling: Nevertheless, each to his own.
