Meece 1,958
One of the daughters, had a painting done by a girl who she was friends with at school of our two spaniel from a photo. The result was fantastic. This girl has a real talent for this kind of painting. I would have liked two more Paintings done but the daughter and this girl seriously fell out over a boyfriend who is now son in law and I was banned from having any contact with her. ( Hell hath no fury like a woman). Shame really. On the other hand a bloke that I worked with had an artist paint a picture of his wife's two horses from a photo for her birthday present. When he showed me the picture which cost a lot of money I said "that horses face looks a bit odd, somehow it looks a bit weird". He said " Nahh, that's how it looks ". When he gave her the picture she went mental at him for giving her a crap, rubbish picture of horses that bore no resemblance to her two horses !!!. I did warn him. She said there was no way it was going on the wall and she threw it out !!! He took the picture back to the artist and said that his Mrs said it was rubbish and could he alter it . The artist said NO, he couldnt and that was his interpretation of the subject in the photo and that the bloke was happy with it upon collection !! I think that the painting went on the bonfire !! Couple of hundred quid up in smoke !! its all down to personal interpretation. Beauty in the eye of the beholder, ect. This couple were a bit odd though. She was a complete bitch / cow and he was a bit of a thick Bob. Still it takes aĺl sorts .

I have to admit that when I usually see these sorts of things they never look right to me. We knew a fella many years ago who was superb, and he done a black lab she had that died young, it was a spitting image, and it was done from a poor photo, he added a brace of pheasant into the pic by her feet, it really captured her. Not so many years ago my ex had a local artist do my rottie as a birthday pic, I was speechless, again it was perfect, the Orrible **** smashed it up when we split up, amongst many other things. i would like to know who done that as would love my dogs painted again. I used to draw /paint when I was younger but not done anything for 12 yrs or more.... Finding the time, used to draw alot of b.o.ps because Oldman and brother kept them growing up. Something I will pick back maybe in a few yrs
