The end of Cash

Recommended Posts

I read this.....  https://slate.com/business/2018/07/cashless-stores-and-restaurants-are-on-the-rise-to-the-delight-of-credit-card-companies.html

Went shopping with Mrs and noticed virtually everyone uses plastic for even the smallest purchase via card , swipe or app on their phone's. In 2 years time the £20 note is being changed to a new plastic one. I like cash but most stuff is bought online now so it is all a card and not a cash society ?

Type ..... end of cash into Google and there are rake loads of articles about it.

I don't even want to comment but threads like this and the reply,s from many, show that total government control is only one generation away and that generation are walking blindly into it, these thin

Cash won't end but it's a digital era we live in. In the past we would always withdraw wages to pay bills and pocket money. These days we don't go near a bank on pay day. Just use our cards or phones

Always pay for stuff with cash..... Wages go in the joint account, Mrs takes care of the bills etc, any hobbles I do are for cash, fucks me off when your behind some cnut in a shop and they go through

Seen folk buy a paper and swipe it with Thier phone.

Got turned away with cash when I hired a lorry for our last move, fella said sorry can't take that as we have no where to store it. So had to get Mrs to pay deposit over phone.

What ever happened to cash is king

Cash will always exist because it can't be traced. Even the politicians and bankers love it. I know a guy who built a house for a revenue commissioner for cash.??? If they are saving a few bob from their own pockets they will all use it.

As a Keeper I receive a tip at the end of the day’s shooting. A handshake between yourself and the gun with the money folded up and exchanged almost secretively and put straight into your pocket without looking at what you receive . I just can’t imagine standing there with a chip and pin reader , or handing over my bank details so they can do a balance transfer. No , cash is king .

I paid cash for all my houses, this one was only £100,000 granted, but still have a few hundred grand stashed in cash, don't want the system knowing what I have or the tax man taking my kids inheritance, cash all the way for me!

I really don't know how people can do without cash. Cards are OK for paying for petrol or a meal, but what if you want a pack of chewing gum? Do people really pay for stuff worth pennies with a card?

Cards are just another bit of control for the government.

It's all about Government control. The more you use your card the more they have a pattern or routine of where you frequent etc. I'm not saying they're watching us all, but if they ever needed to they could basically retrace all your movements at the click of a button. Same with all the new notes coming in, it's to figure exactly who has got what etc because if you don't trade them in then you'll have a stash of worthless paper.
