Random phone calls

Recommended Posts

We have a phone package element that weeds the carp calls out so we don't get them. The phone rang and there is a random Mbongo'ess on the line. Now my hearIng isn't  as good as it could be with the years of unprotected gunfire but she seemed to have  my name but when asked what it was all-out she put the phone  down. Strange still it cost someone a phone call

Not sure how it works in Blighty but the best strategy for telesales is to keep them on the phone as long as possible and tell them you're wasting their time. Hanging up on them is expected. It's part of the OP. Keeping them on the line costs them money and if the public did it on a mass scale they wouldn't be able to afford to cold call anymore, even from India.

There is a scam about the moment where some f****r rings you but never talks before hanging up then a raghead rings to ask if you getting any nuisance calls ,boy did he wish he never lol .Trying to sell you phone screening .Called him all the pig fuckers under the sun but still he wanted to sell me the product .said he was from my line provider but couldn' name them .Rang back too and asked same question to which i calml replied ,I know where you live and I'm coming for you .No more phone calls of that nature to date .

keep getting calls from john or peter or paul type names from a Birmingham number and really from India. So when they ask to Mr A I told them he had committed suicide due to harassing phone calls, the phone went dead. Touch wood they haven't called back, was going to say its in the hand of the police and they are tracing the call but went dead to quick.

Cheers Arry

I've only ever had the odd one here and there.

What I usually do is ask them to hang on (there's someone at the door, something burning on the cooker etc).............then just go back to what I was doing.

Go back after 30 minutes or so, and they've usually hung up - which is very rude, if you ask me !

I think you,ll find that the phone package you have is only allowed to block calls from the uk, foreign call centres can't be covered by uk law and that's why you still get calls from a bloke called Dave that can't even say your name, I don't think there,s a need to line your cupboard in foil and hide under the stairs mate just check the small print within your package ?

We're with Vodafone and we just dont get any  nuisance calls at all, which makes this one a bit of an oddity.  The call was so quick and unintelligible that I no idea what it's purpose was but what makes it strange is that I'm sure I heard the first name of one of my daughters and my surname.

Ps I think that I now understand.  The daughter has been questioned and it turns out that she has recently been harassed over ppi to claim money back from a card that she had when she was about 19. She gave them our address and landline number because she was living at home back in the day. thanks. Not had anymore calls.

Best one my Mrs had was one that said his name was Patrick, she made him repeat it several times, couldn't stop laughing ????

Cheers, D.
