The palace is long overdue an upgrade. Money well spent. Its the heart of British culture.   Lets count up how much has been spent on minorities from daft grants and commuinty projects. Oh and let

It will go like this, they will all get given state of the art housing and a cold fortune found to do it all because of the demographic of that area. Same as when poor little Damilola Taylor was stab

I'd rehome them, back in the shit holes they came from.

I reckon fitting large sprinklers to the outside of the buildings which have that type of cladding on is the answer.say every 1/4 Of the way up.

So the water runs down the cladding.

I would imagine there's a good few buildings in the UK with that type of flammable cladding.

that's true king, but surely that type of cladding would be better off dumped, it should never have been passed. especially with todays health n safety

Over 100 buildings with the same cladding I heard on the news, feel for anyone living in one of those buildings I wouldn't be able to settle knowing what could happen...

Surely the best option is to just remove the cladding and replace it with the fire resistant stuff though?

we,ll see what started that fire,id lay a fair bet it was a overloaded extension lead, asians, are notorious for plugging 500 sockets into one lead.

This guy is still insisting it was his faulty fridge....

I agree it should be dumped and replaced.

But that will take a good few yrs to do I would imagine.

But as a temporary measure an outside sprinkler system would be better than nowt.

They could probably do 1 tower block in a week I would think.

The cladding, insulation, electrical and other systems that were fitted would comply with "today's" H&S requirements - the work was only done a year ago !

The council wants a job doing, lays down a minimum standard that meets legal requirements and the firm that submits the lowest bid gets the job - you pay peanuts, you get monkeys !

So, that's why the (more expensive !) fire retardant cladding wasn't used - welcome to the wonderful world of competitive tendering.....

Isn't the area where the flats burned down a labour controlled constituency, perhaps they had the work done on the cheap to keep some money back for the next wave of immigrants that will demand housing

It's a Tory controlled council and has been for years and up until June 8th the MP had been a Tory for years too.
