Honesty ! first and foremost ,   Without it your just a man with a dog.

A man who works, feeds, breeds and owns Terriers for the sheer love of them..   A man who puts his Terriers well being over the greed of money. He won't just sale to the highest bidder without conc

Money is the ruination of the dog game.still there is a lot of genuine guys out there.1 story sticks out with me.we paid 275 quid for a lakeland bitch .fetched it up proper.never switched on at all.load of shite.when I phoned the breeder and told him.he wanted to buy it bk for breeding .no f***ing chance.it was pts .then a mate gave us a terrier pup .free .wouldn't take a bean.had 7 good seasons with her.

without greed, money is just paper.

Been not only able to tell lies to other terriermen but if they visit you in 3 seasons time to be still able to remember those original lies so they don't catch you out plus the ability to convince some gobshite that the 3 year old dog your selling him hasn't been even tried or spoilt yet but has great potential and will make a good one.

To me a dog man puts his dogs first. They make sure there caught up on shots, they have clean water and bedding and food on a daily basis. When there hurt they get proper medical treatment. You can have and bred the best line of dogs and have great working dogs but if you dont take proper care of them then your not a good terrier man. Your just a guy with some dogs..

There's lads go through life having owned plenty of good terriers but the same lads got rid of plenty that would have made it in a good terrier mans hands.

Honesty in ALL aspects of life is a conscientious decision that we make ourselves.

Being able to dig and knowing what you're doing around a dig takes loads and loads of experience. Some will pick it up quicker than others but it should be something you should become good at with experience.

But consistently getting the most out of terriers from puppy hood to a long working life of a high standard takes a stock mans eye and not many have that.
