stumfelter 3,034
Both myself and my wife are both lucky enough to be in work, combined we get a tadge over £3k a month not a lot but a lot more than others. Yet a family I know not far from me, neither the husband nor wife has had a job that I know of for 10yrs plus, they have a nice car 3 kids and two dogs and get their rent paid, and every year have two weeks in the sun? Am I really lucky me and the wife are working, or unlucky? I don't think they'll be getting £750 a week and you've got your pride so I'd say your the lucky one. When you work and your taxes pay for other folk to be better off than yourself. Pride is not quite the word I was thinking of, but I get your meaning
villaman 9,982
Does my tits in seeing people on benefits complaining when they have a fuucking big screen telly, Sky and fag in the mouth! And they usually have a f***ing menagerie of pets. Can't afford to feed your kids decent grub but can afford to feed animalsPeople on benefits should be banned from keeping animals...., and reproducing until they're working and paying their way!! What happens if somebody works and then loses there job, do they hand there kids and pets in until they're working again? You should watch you don't fall off that f***ing pedestal and hurt yourself. Go and get another job!!

johnny boy68 11,726
Working tax credits are paid to people who are working, why should people who are working get benefits? All these big tv's and tidy cars and such like are all on credit with the likes of bright house and other credit agency's that make it easy for people to get into debt. These programs are great at getting us to hate on our own, granted lots are work shy but not everybody is like that.

Nik_B 3,791
There really should not be 'poverty' in the UK, if people are in poverty then they've probably f****d up big time with loans etc. Free; education, health service, social benefits, school dinners, housing and the list goes on and on. I find it disgusting people use this word in this country. I'm sure people have seen worse but I was once driving through the desert in Algeria and I saw one of those American Yellow school buses pull up on this track in front of me. All around me was rubbish. Gobsmacked I watched as a load of children spilled out of the bus, I couldn't work out what they were doing until I realised the rubbish I'd looked at was their homes. It was a little shanty village, the houses were made out of scrap and corrugated steel etc. I'd say that is poverty and those people would give their right arms for what our 'poverty' stricken families live on in this country.
Nik_B 3,791
p.s just to clarify my post a bit young while males are the most disadvantaged kids in this country and are rapidly falling behind most other groups so I agree with the sentiment of the OP's post. White people especially white males are hated by our establishment for some inexplicable reason I just don't like the word poverty
C556 351
What many people consider to be poverty nowadays would probably be a good standard of living thirty or forty years ago.

White people especially white males are hated by our establishment for some inexplicable reason I just don't like the word poverty I agree with you but I think it is white youths that suffer the worst from 'the establishment' I can imagine a child or adolescent saying they are proud to be white in school getting laughed at and probably in trouble from the teacher, how did this happen? Young white girls getting gang raped throughout Europe! What is going on! Anything resembling whites being proud on social media is scorned and often results in a police investigation. WTF!!!

I know what you are saying Johnny but there is a big difference to working for it, then finding yourself on hard times and scrounging all their working life. Right now I'm killing my savings and salary paying for my daughter's education here. I dont have a big telly, I do have a dog/wanker and I feed my daughter good fresh homecooked food every day. My only vice is supping a coffee in a morning now I've worked hard to get a new job, more money etc (which I start next week). Point I'm trying to make is these days every f****r is entitled without believing they have to work for it. their kids grow up thinking the same and shit cycle repeats! "If you want it, work for it!" As my dad says.
