neil cooney 10,416
http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/badger-family-sett-up-for-life-in-313-000-home-vbppfpd6s Just out of interest but how many homeless families (of humans of course) would you rehome with £313,000. I'm no expert on badgers but I know they're fussy about where they live and I hope that family feck of and vacate that sett. I'd love to see photos of a litter of fox cubs outside it next Summer, LOL. Quote Link to post

Treehands. 1,379
A lot of that cost would be overpriced materials + labour from a guaranteed payroll. Back in the 80s bunny huggers built a Holt for the otters at a cost of £1700 , a mile from the Mersey river were the only fish in them days were a special Brown trout that floated rather than swam. 3 Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
The whole badger thing has got out of hand. There's a sett round here beside a road. They have felt the need to cone off the area and we have had temporary traffic lights for over a year so far. My neighbour recently witnessed the treehugging official responsible for this "checking up" on his badger family and he was nearly in tears with the words "Oh. MY badger has gone." Still coned off though. Maybe he's hoping another badger family will move in to hold up the traffic for another year. Quote Link to post

Rabid 1,936
I work with councils and certain different associations sometimes and it really is a licence to print money, in no way do they try to look after the taxpayers money, I see so much wastage going on its unreal, materials and labour, over pricing, jobs created for the hell of it, big pay offs, all sorts, been going on for years and will for many more. The problem is, there will always be some official in a position who thinks things like this are a good idea, and will be public backing from select groups, so no matter how ridiculous it sounds, it will happen. 2 Quote Link to post

Fat-Ferret 857
The same thing happened here a few years ago, badgers undermined a railway and caused a major accident. The railway was shut for weeks not because of the accident but because the built a new sette and encouraged them to move to it Quote Link to post
