littlefish 598
Met a Neopolitan mastiff locally a few years ago. It was a mess...shuffling along with its eyes dropping and the smell of yeast from it.....it was pitiful really......
tillylamp 1,940
Disgusting what these idiots have done to animals, I can't for the life of me understand why people still put their names down for pups which they know will have so many health issues either though, if I had a dog which couldn't breath properly or had trouble seeing I'd put the fuker down and out of its misery but instead people pay a couple of grand for them, charge you a grand for a pup that needs constant veterinary attention -these pet insurance company's are jumping for joy .I still know a lad who has the athletic type-able to catch a man if he comes over the fence etc.atb dc true, you prob find it got another breed in it few gens back, thats why the (ban dog) was created to get a healthy guard , the temp of the N/M x back to APBT .most large breeds today have major health prob, ( HD,SD,and not long lived ) 8 years if your lucky . i f i really wanted a guard dog today, thats healthy i go for a alsatian x collie, somting that been bred on a farm as guard/workig dog, any dog of 85lb would wreak a man if the dog wanted to, just watch your average mutt chope a 2in beef bone lol. i knew of bloke who had a N/M bitch it was fooked at 4 1/2 year old with HD he had to have it put down , get a x breed better dog all day long (healthy ) is bad health problems more to do with breeding and the way someone brings a big dog up from a pup,and not carrying out the correct procedure....iv'e had two English mastiffs, unfortunately we lost the first one very young to cancer, but the second one we had, lived to 11 yrs old with no problems,(from the same breeder) the breeder told me, his breeding was a slower growing dog, than others, he told me of another mastiff breeder, and his dogs were fully grow with in a year, weighing up to 18 stone, his dogs did have allsorts of problems, and they were knackered by 5 yrs old,if not dead, where as my dogs brothers and sisters lived a lot longer and healthier lives, well...apart from one, that's because the bloke who bought her, bred her a 1 year old.... Fieldsporthunter 1,864
Considering a dog is mans best friend, man isn't doing most dog breeds any favours.

keepdiggin 9,565
whats the difference between a neo and a cane corso?
Chicken_man 1,651
and todays breed Saw one of these other day. Lad had to carry it,could hardly breath. Why breed like that? Why buy an animal like that?
Chicken_man 1,651
I know some folk who have King Charles spaniels. They don't last many yrs. Heart defects, eye problems, brain defects! Vet's make a killing treating them! Vet's would be better advising against this type of breeding in imo. But folk still buy them, knowing the potential problems they could have. Beyond me why Atb
bird 10,014
whats the difference between a neo and a cane corso? the cane corso ,smaller, tighter skin, and alot more healthy , but as ive said most large breeds today have health probs , my vet said once you get dogs to 90lb and over , you get hip/shoulder probs. i keep my big dog Buck light he 28in 84lb , you can see 3 ribs both sides , the vet said he was just right, i get him bit heavier when i work, him in the winter . downsouth 8,401
whats the difference between a neo and a cane corso? Both Italian mastiffs originating from different regions.Corso is another one of these breeds that's been resurrected so more than likely had various breeds thrown in the mix.Ive seen a couple that I'd like to own or see infused into the Neopolitan gene pool but seen a lot more shocking examples that should never be bred from but undoubtedly will be.
