He's consistently been one of the lowest claimants of expenses throughout his over 30 years in parliament

does he still use the subsidised eaters n drinkers in the commons????????

He usually brings in a packed lunch but I'm sure he has used the canteens at Westminster, what's wrong with that

 

No one is trying to claim he doesn't claim any expenses just that it's an undisputed fact that every year since he became an MP he's been among the lowest expense claimants

Ok then pal, guess Corbyn's just kept it really well hidden all these years. All his working against the establishment and big business was just his cover story

 

They're a rare thing but there is politicians on both sides of the house that truly are principled folk trying their best to make life easier for their constituents and follow their conscience not the lobbyists when it comes to voting on legislation, by all accounts Corbyn is one of them

Well it isn't only his income, his wife runs a succesful luxury coffee import business too and what expenses do you think two adults with no mortgage and grown up kids really have? He doesn't own a car, doesnt go on holiday to exotic destinations and you certainly wouldn't accuse him spending loads on flash clothes

 

I just can't see where all this money from shadowy backers is going? He's an old man who lives frugally and enjoys simple pleasures like working on his allotment, making jam and taking pictures of manhole covers If there was some dodgy secret funding stream you can bet it would have been dug up by his enemies by now, it would sink him instantly.

Think this is the only positive article on Corbyn I've ever seen in a mainstream paper Hits on a couple of points gone over in this thread too.

Words like "unedifying" and "unpleasant" don’t even begin to describe the campaign that the British establishment have undertaken to destroy Jeremy Corbyn. Try "sinister" and "malevolent" and "venomous" instead. Yet, when you assess the nature of the forces which are lined up against him and then observe how his very name brings them to a point where they begin to boil and froth, then you know Mr Corbyn must be a good man.

As well as the entire Conservative Party at Westminster and the editors and leader-writers of Britain’s right-wing press, Mr Corbyn is reviled by corporate Britain’s executive class and held in barely concealed contempt by the BBC in London. You can almost smell their fear and you begin to understand that they are out to stop him at all costs. Under no circumstances can an authentic Socialist, red in tooth and claw, be allowed access to the levers of power in the UK. For then, who knows what he might bring down upon these his enemies; each of whom has a stake in the way that business is done in this country and thus has much to lose if Mr Corbyn were ever to gain the keys to 10 Downing Street.

The party coffers are now swilling with cash to fight future elections thanks to the huge increase in Labour Party memberships. Many of the new members are young people who have been energised by a politician who actually believes what he is saying, rather than one who makes endless compromises with the corporate interests who manipulate Parliament for their own ends. To them, the mother of all parliaments is a place for racketeers and exploiters and those who prostitute their influence in return for a few grand and who claim for milk and paper clips.
Mr Corbyn isn’t like that. When the scandal about the extent of MPs' expenses claims first broke he was found to be among the lowest claimants. He wants to re-nationalise the railways, a policy that chimes with a public that has grown weary of profiteering and inefficiency by the train companies. He is supported by many economists who have stated his theories and policies surrounding public sector investment and managing debt and money is a much more equitable matrix for economic recovery.

Good article that, and by the way, one that probably isn't that far off the truth.

I have said from the start I think he is good for British politics as you know BGD......I always work on the principal that if the political establishment think somethings bad then it must be very good.

BGD, how do you feel about Corbyn 'allegedly' buying t shirts for his campaign that have been made by kids in bangaladesh earning only 30 pence an hour..... he had previously campaigned about exactly the same thing........is he really for the workers or is he bothered about profits..... :whistling: :whistling:

Momentum bought the shirts, Corbyn had nothing to do with it. Sure they'll be sourcing their shirts from somewhere else now the press has brought it to their attention

 

Shows how much they're scraping the bottom of the barrel for something to try and attack him over TBH.

It's not the first time Momentum have used this supplier, they used them for his initial leadership campaign. I know it's not strictly Corbyns fault but these people are affiliating themselves to him and that's where his problem lies imo, some of the people/groups that follow him are very damaging imo.
