Old Peugeot 406 2.0 hdi. I rate anything with hdi engine , the ones I've had in past have been bomb proof. Atb

For on the road motoring,.I find the Astra Vans to be extremely economical and cost effective

I have a octavia 1.9 tdi estate, the older pd engine, fantastic on fuel, often get up to 68 mpg. I don't hammer it mind. Loads of room in it as well.

Has anyone on here got a diesel forrester? , for a 4x4 the road tax (£210 per year)and mpg (40+)seem really good. My Mrs will have it for work which is a 20 mile round trip from where we're moving to so mpg is an issue.

It's crazy looking through the autos you guys have. On the one side your driving around in what amounts to something we'd get for our wife to drive to the grocery store. On the other side, the m.p.g.'s your getting are double what's available here. Getting over 20 m.p.g. on a hunting truck here is unheard of. We can't get Hilux's here because gas tax funds the hwy. upkeep so they won't let us have anything that gets good fuel mileage. Same goes for small Ford diesels, VW's, Audi's, etc., etc.

Nearly everyone here has a Ford F150, Chevy 1500 or Dodge 1500, all 4x4, and all extended cab. There are a few Toyota Tacomas which are essentially a gas Hilux that gets 20 m.p.g.

Can you all get the Toyota series 70 diesel trucks there. It's said that if they let those into the USA it would crush the domestic truck market here. I wonder what kind of m.p.g.'s they get.

If ive got my facts right and calculated it right they are paying a maximum of 45 English pence per litre. Vs our £1 plus a litre.

Yearly low has been 36 English pence per litre.

I would have a V8 if fuel prices were that low. Lol.
