At the end of the day, you want to get home in one piece. That way you live to fight another day. jukel123 9,889
The mind is fragile. Remember when Roberto Duran quit? Nobody would call him a bottler...to his face anyway. Same with Dave Allen. But he doesn't lack grit. People aren't robots. You can never predict how the mind reacts.
jukel123 9,889
Some fighters have an 'aura' about them which psyches out their opponent. Remember Sonny Liston? His opponents were terrified of him. Which made Ali's contempt for him a really amazing spectacle. Later, Ali had an aura of in invinciblity about him which helped him a lot in the ring. Guys would get into the ring with Mike Tyson shit scared, beaten before they threw a punch. And that was why, when Tyson came across opponents who weren't afraid of him, he crumbled, Big-time. When faced with a very limited journeyman who nevertheless came to fight Tyson quit on his stool. His aura completely gone. I tell you who has an aura amongst the present heavyweights: Itauma! He's one scary dude. Frightens me when I'm drinking my cocoa watching him on telly. Edited 16 hours ago by jukel123

Bit Holyfield's ear to get out of the fight. Quit on his stool against Joe McBride. He was a bully. Devastating at beating people up. Not so good when he felt he couldn't beat someone up. I'm not dissing him. Lots of boxers and people are like that. I used to wallop my kids and the Mrs . But they all fight back now, I'm humiliated every day. I'm terrified of my Mrs. 73 years old but Jesus she's accurate with her stick. The biggest humiliation was when my son picked me up and threw me on the couch like I used to do to him when he was small. Bullies. For the purpose of clarity, in these politically correct times, I did not wallop my wife and kids. Twas a joke. Edited 11 hours ago by jukel123

In truth Dubois is a gentle giant. If it wasn't for being his dad's pet project, boxing would be the last sport he would have entered. He has no malice, no spite, no anger. When he gets knocked down, he doesn't get angry or embarrassed, he looks to his dad. He works out religiously, lives clean and plays on his computer. Thats his life. He has an awesome physique. But he lacks a fighting spirit and nobody can implant that in his head. Edited 1 hour ago by jukel123
