Pardus 1,610
Allen looks like he's spent his training camp in McDonald's, so much for being in much better shape this time around Dave. Lol

Allen wasn't bothered about Fishers jabs or limited movement, just kept walking him down and throwing bombs. I thought fisher looked nervous fron the start, he knew he could be hurt, decent enough scrap again though, not sure what next for Fisher?

I just don't get fighters and trainers these days, it's the same with AJ, they just hold the jab out in defence and as a probe instead of utilising it as a proper weapon. You can win fights off the jab alone and use it to pick people apart and bust them up. I've no idea where he can go from here, he's clearly not durable enough to mix it with good fighters, a shame for the kid because he's got a good following, id advice him to utilise his university education and seriously think about the long term.
gnasher16 31,325
As much respect and admiration as i have for the Tibbs family i just dont agree with this philosophy with young prospects who havent had an amateur schooling....Fisher is a pure physical specimen,an outstanding athlete who could probably turn his hand to most sports demanding a certain amount of physicality from Rugby to Fighting to Rowing......he has chosen boxing and done well with the physical gifts that he has,so why turn him backwards and start trying to teach him basic fundamentals when pure physical savagery has got him this far.....gamble.....send him out to get opponents out in short order instead of trying to turn him into a smart stick and move boxer he just doesnt have the iq for 10 rounds of stick and move against opponents with vastly more experience, but he does have the brute force and athletic power to put their lights out. All them other fights fisher has had he just goes out banging...head and body...fast hands ....I couldn't understand why he changed for this fight...

Because he tried that in the first fight but was hitting a brick wall.

Exactly....theres a knee jerk reaction amongst British trainers to " lay foundations " in power punchers,in order to make them more rounded, instead of gambling on what they already have.....i always thought Mike Tyson was overrated but i do think his early trainers D'Amato and Kevin Rooney got absolutely every last drop out of his potential and they did it by utilising the natural talent he walked into the gym with. With no real amateur schooling a fighters career is too short to take him right back to absolute basics, just use the tools he has......with a lad like Fisher you just have to put all your eggs in one basket in my opinion. You think Fisher is any better than Adam Fogerty was? Similar background and record.

Not really mate no Fisher just has a bigger following and big promotional outfit behind him.....infact Adam beat some good names of the day my ol mucker Paul Lister he also beat John Westgarth, they were both better fighters in their day than Dave Allen.
